    SUPERCUSSION!

    Program Description

    SUPERCUSSION is a high-energy, information-packed introduction to the


    world of PERCUSSION. A “Blue Man Group” for the listener who wants to know
    more. FOUR percussionists performing on more than FORTY instruments
    integrate multiple learning concepts such as math, history, language and music
    and guide their audiences through the development of the history of percussion
    and music. From the clashing of junk, to the brilliance of Mozart, to a cool groove
    of Michael Jackson’s, Supercussion tours the audience around the globe
    performing on instruments from Africa, Asia, Europe, South America and the
    United States in diverse, multiple styles including rap, pop, world music,
    classical, jazz, folk--even cartoon music! Super for all ages. Ideal for K-5.

    Performance Area Requirements for Supercussion

    The ideal performance space is a 26foot x13foot rectangular area. We like


    to perform on the same level as the audience so they are up close and can see
    what we are doing. Using a stage is ok also.

    Technical Requirements for Supercussion


    PA system with at least 1 microphone on a floor stand. 2 microphones are
    ideal.

    Setup Time
    Each member of the group has a carload of large instruments and we ask
    that the presenting organization reserve 4 parking spaces near the venue load-in
    point. This allows the setup to run quickly and efficiently. We need the venue to
    be available for setup 45 minutes to 1 hour in advance of the start time. It takes
    this much time to load-in and prepare all the instruments for the performance.
    The exit time is much faster and we are usually out of the venue in 20 minutes.
