1. Introduction
Sisi and Nubi are two gas fields located on the East of Kalimantan (Indonesia) around 25km
offshore from the Mahakam river delta.
They cover areas of 58km² and 78km² respectively. The water depth is between 60 and 90 meters,
and the reservoir pay zones are between 3800 meters and 1900 meters below mud line.
Hydrocarbons are trapped along faults in shale-sand alternated reservoirs.
The two fields lie at the boundary between two permits, the main TOTAL Mahakam PSC and the
TOTAL Tengah J.O.A. An unitization of these permits was approved in 1997 by Pertamina
leading to the current SISI NUBI unit.
The proposed development of SISI and NUBI fields include 67 wells, drilled from 9 wellhead
platforms, 4 on SISI and 5 on NUBI.
TOTAL E&P INDONESIE (the “COMPANY”) has awarded a contract to HYUNDAI HEAVY
INDUSTRIES CO. LTD (the “CONTRACTOR”) for the engineering, the procurement and the
construction of the SISI NUBI gas pipeline project.
For this purpose, the Contractor has subcontracted the Onshore and Nearshore works in relation to
this 26” submarine gas pipeline to PT GEOCEAN INDONESIA (the “Subcontractors”). Including
but not limited to the construction Engineering and procedures, the onshore works, push pull
operation, shallow water pipelaying and post trenching up to KP 13.75.

5. Definitions
KP Kilometre Post
TDP Touch Down Point. First point of contact of the pipeline to the sea bed
from the lay barge.
CD Chart Datum
LF Land Fall
6. Scope of work
Positioning work and survey will be required in order to perform the following operations:
o Positioning of the work barge involved during the preparation of the crossing
pipelines and their identification. Positioning of the tug boats associated,
o Positioning of the lay barge during the pipeline laying operation and her associated
AHT boats
o Survey of the laid pipeline during the laying progress,
o Survey of the as laid pipeline before the post trenching operation.
7. Geodetic parameters
The Geodetic Parameters which will be used during the project are:
Horizontal Datum
Horizontal position is using a local datum as described below,
Datum Name : P2 Exc – T9 (Gunung Segara – Samboja)
Origin : T9 (TORAN Station)
Spheroid : Bessel 1841
Semi major axis a = 6 377 397.155
Semi minor axis b = 6 356 078.963
Inverse flattening 1/f = 299.152 82
Eccentricity squared e2 = 0.006 674 372
Projection : Universal Transverse Mercartor (UTM)
Zone = 50
Central Meridian (CM) = 117° East
Latitude of Origin = Equator (0°)
False Easting = 500 000.00
False Northing = 1 000 000.00
Scale Factor on CM = 0.9996
Datum shifts from GPS Satellite Datum (ITRF-WGS84) to Local Datum (P2-Exc-T9) is using
three parameters as follows,
Delta X : + 404.78m
Delta Y : - 685.68m
Delta Z : - 45.47m
All system to be used, shall demonstrate the same result as above transformation example to
verify the parameter inputted.
8. Vertical Datum
In order to have a single reference for Total Indonesie working area, since 2001, all elevations
shall be expressed with reference to TOTAL CHART DATUM (CD). The CD is defined as
being 1.58 meter below MSL at HANDIL 2.
For all working area within Mahakam Delta including swamp, near shore and offshore vicinity,
the value of 1.58 metres shall be adopted to reduce all elevation from MSL to CD.
9. Bench Marks
The crane barge will be equipped with dual AG132 DGPS system in order to position the barge
with accuracy for the operation on the crossing points.
The barge will be moored by 4 anchors installed using AHT Boats.
Two AHT/ tugs will be used during the anchoring operations. The position of the tugs and the
location of the anchor dropping will be monitored by a Tug Management system software
managed from the crane barge.
Hydropro construction software will be used as tug management system, to interface all marine
activities and survey positioning. The head surveyor will be in charge of collecting and saving all
relevant data aboard the barge.
Both GPS system used for this job will be referred to a base station placed on Benchmarks
provided by the COMPANY.
One base stations for RTK and DGPS will be equipped with the followings:
• Trimble 4400Ssi (or equivalent) RTK Out-off, GPS receiver.
• 2 x Pacific Crest PDL UHF radio modem-transceiver (or equivalent).
• Radio antenna mast.
• Sufficient batteries
Second base station for DGPS will be equipped with the followings:
• Trimble AG 132 beacon Out-off (or equivalent), GPS receiver.
• Dual set of Pacific Crest PDL UHF radio modem-transceiver (or equivalent).
• Radio antenna mast.
• Sufficient batteries
Heading of the crane barge will be given by the 2 DGPS receivers installed at least 5 meters apart. The
true heading of the barge will be given by the difference in coordinates of the mobile with an accuracy
of + 1 second of arc.
Differential correction will be sent by the base station located on GTS A platform.
• 1 x Pacific Crest LP UHF Radios for the differential correction from the base station,
Differential correction will be sent by the base station located on GTS A platform.
10.1.2.3 RTK
One of the DGPS system should be convertible to RTK for accuracy at the crossings.
10.1.2.4 Software
• Trimble Hydropro-construction software.
• Associated computer.
10.1.2.5 Accuracy
• 1 x DGPS with AG132 Trimble interface to compass KVH for navigation and heading (or
equivalent).
• One radio PDL ,for connection to the lay barge Tug Management System
• One radio PDL for the reception of the correction data,
• One Mini PC, computer Windows XP pro.
Software on board used is “Hydropro construction Tug” software.
The barge will be moored and will move using its 8 anchors. The anchors will be dropped by 2
AHT / tugs which will be monitored by the Barge Management system.
The Hydropro software will be used to interface all marine activities and survey positioning. The

10.2.2.6 Accuracy
• The survey gyro will be fully integrated into the navigation system.
The Gyro compass will be calibrated at quay.
2 DGPS reveiver will be recorded simultaneously in order to establish the azimuth of the base line of
the quay.
The Found azimuth will be compared to the axis of the barge by parallel measurements from the quay
azimuth with the barge heading given by the Gyro. The process will be repeated with the barge rotated
of 180 deg at the same location.

• One Mini PC, computer Windows XP pro.
Software on board used is “Hydropro-Tug- Management” software.
The mobilization procedure shall consist of, but not limited to, the following activities. These
activities will usually take place when the vessel is alongside a jetty.
A GPS control form will be checked and signed by the Company representative, the Party Chief
Surveyor and the Contractor representative.
• Crossing location
• Theoretical location of existing pipelines, as found during the pre lay survey operation,
obstructions, COMPANY facilities and exclusion zones.
• Position of the barge template with its orientation within the corridor.
• Position of the anchor and anchor lines.
• Dynamic position of the AHT received by telemetry.
See document “Specific pipeline crossing area preparation” listed in reference for complete survey
and positioning scope of work during the preparation works.
All commands are transmitted from the barge to the AHT to perform anchoring operations (pick-
up, drop and recover anchor).
12.3 AHT
An automatic system linked by telemetry to the barge gives all the necessary information to the
AHT helmsman.
All the important information (safety corridors, existing pipelines, anchor lines, anchor drop
positions, etc.) are also displayed on this helmsman screen.
