I.

Intro (5 min)
A. Welcome (have some snacks and sign in sheet)
B. State the purpose of the presentation (digital storytelling focusing on using
Sutori)
C. State how we will prepare them to become comfortable with the site (presented
with how digital storytelling is effective, presented with features of Sutori and how
it can benefit student engagement and retention of content, show examples of it
being used with a science emphasis, have breakout groups that collaborate live
on an assigned topic within small groups)
D. State the learning outcomes of the presentation (become more familiar with the
power of digital storytelling use in their classroom, become familiar with the use
and application of Sutori, feel comfortable with a way they can implement it in the
near future)
II. Content presented (35 min)
A. Explain what digital storytelling is
B. Share articles and research done about the effectiveness of digital storytelling
C. Share the features of the site and demonstrate how to build a lab report
D. Show example of the Poisoned Picnic epidemiology report from Health Science 2
that students created, also show how it can be used as another way to present a
report
E. Have various class codes posted for small breakout groups to join and have
them work for about 15-20 min together on an assigned topic to see how it can
be used (we will move around between groups to assist and encourage
participation)
III. Assessment (5 min)
A. Share the completed (as much as was done in the allotted time) Sutori pages the
to commend them on their mastery of utilizing various features of the site and to
provide the large group with more examples to view
IV. Closure (5 min)
A. Provide a Google Form where they reflect on the presentation and share how
they think they could implement it into their content area
B. Thank them for attending
