Homework:
Homework will involve solving model and preforming policy analysis using GAMS. I expect all student to turn in their own
homework assignments.
Project:
Student are expected to complete a real world policy analysis and present the results in the form of a report. Students are free to
pick a topic of their choosing that demonstrates their ability to apply the tools learned throughout the semester. The report should
include an (1) introduction that clearly states the objective, (2) a brief literature review, (3) a description of the model and methods
used, (4) results, and (5) conclusion. I will grade based on content and professionalism of the report. The project is in place of
exams and is intended to get students started thinking about a topic for their thesis.
Cell Phones:
Please turn off cell phones during class. The use of your phone is a distraction to me and other students in the class.
Academic Dishonesty:
"As a core part of its mission, the University of Arkansas provides students with the opportunity to further their educational goals
through programs of study and research in an environment that promotes freedom of inquiry and academic responsibility.
Accomplishing this mission is only possible when intellectual honesty and individual integrity prevail."
"Each University of Arkansas student is required to be familiar with and abide by the University’s ‘Academic Integrity Policy’ which
may be found at http://provost.uark.edu/. Students with questions about how these policies apply to a particular course or
assignment should immediately contact their instructor."
Inclement Weather:
If the University is open, we will have class. See UA Inclement Weather Policy at http://emergency.uark.edu/11272.php. As the
instructor, I reserve the right to cancel class due to inclement weather. Students will be notified by email and blackboard if this is
