Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking Project Engineer / Technical Coordinators to join the team in our
Edmonton, AB office. The successful candidate will be accountable for technical delivery of
projects, project performance, scope, schedule, and budget.
Your Key Responsibilities
 Coordinate design progression and development among various technical disciplines for a
variety of upstream, mid-stream, and downstream oil and gas projects.
 Understand and Interpreting client expectations, standards and specifications.
 Coordinate work within a multidiscipline, and multi office, team environment requiring
exceptional communication and organizational skills.
 Coordination of 3rd party consultants and vendors.
 Single point of contact for technical interface.
 Ensure all engineering work is performed in accordance with Stantec and client quality
programs, and applicable codes and standards of the jurisdiction.
 Coordinate the preparation, review, and approval of engineering design deliverables.
 Present engineering deliverables and designs to internal and external stakeholders.
 Lead and participate in periodic project status meetings with the client.
 Developing, delivering and updating the design basis, and specification list.
 Taking lead in design dispute resolution - Report to the Project Manager on budget and
schedule for engineering tasks.
 Oversee and mentor junior engineering and other technical staff.
 Monitor project budget and schedule and initiate corrective actions, as required, to complete
deliverables within deadlines.
 Lead and participate in typical design development meetings including: scope, engineering,
design, specifications, PFD/P&ID drawings, line list, tie-in list, equipment lists, controls,
HAZOP, construction early works, construction kick-off and support, etc. for completeness.
 Oversee and coordinate the preparation of engineering work scope and cost estimations.
 Review deliverables prepared by team to ensure they align with the design basis.
 Perform quality assurance function for work deliverables before they are submitted to Client.
 Monitor client satisfaction for work completed.
 May coordinate and perform site visits for information gathering.
 May provide support during construction phase of projects.
 May provide close support to Commissioning, Start Up and turnover activities.
Your Capabil ities and Credentials
 Minimum 5 years of relevant project engineering experience.
 Minimum 8 years of experience working with O&G consulting engineering.
 Minimum 8 years of crude oil pipeline, associated facilities design, and terminal experience.
 Operating facilities, owner organizations, and/or EPCM firms may be an asset.
 Proven experience coordinating multi-disciplined project teams.
 Experience with Canadian jurisdictions and their various acts and regulations.
 Displays strong leadership qualities.
 Team player who will encourage teamwork with the project team plus other discipline staff.
 Focused on providing quality services to the clients in a timely manner.
 High level of initiative and ability to complete tasks on schedule and budget.
 Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
 Strong written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
 Ability to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
 Field experience is required.
 Travel will be required, based on project requirement.
Education and Credentials
Mechanical, E&I/C, Structural, or relevant Engineering Degree. Professional Engineering P.Eng,
or P.L.(Eng) designation with APEGA or equivalent experience.
