History
Salqas Nigeria Limited resulted from the coming together of a team of design and field
engineers who between them have vast and varied experience in various fields of
engineering. Prior to the incorporation of SNL, its promoters have been providing services as
Managers of small scale IPP projects from conception to commissioning; Power System
Engineers; Protection, Control & Metering (PC&M) Engineers; Testing and Commissioning
Engineers; Electronics Engineers and Programmers. This has seen them undertook projects
as Managers and Project Leads in virtually all the states of the federation.
Services
Underlisted are the activities in which SALQAS has expert capabilities:
Salqas has the capability of supplying, installing, operating and maintaining various products
and services in the field of electrical generation and distribution. This ranges from diesel
generator sets up to switchgear and controlgear. With our experience in electrical
engineering and design, we can guarantee a state-of-the-art solution for almost every project
against competitive prices. Some of our offerings in this wise are as follows:
ASSEMBLING
SNL has a very well utilised assembling/production work floor where Electrical Panels,
Control Panels and Consoles are fully assembled and wired. Our available production
capacity ensures the realisation of short production turn around. This is applicable for small
projects, as well as for large projects with, for instance, more than 40 panels. We are focused
on quality, to minimize the start-up period on location.
As part of the Quality Management System within Salqas, there are a number of
predetermined test and control points within the assembling/production process. All projects
are monitored by the implementation of specific controls designed to meet the requirements
of each individual system in accordance with its test and inspection plan.
Factory Acceptance Test is a standard test that will be executed by Salqas, and this can be
witnessed by our client or his nominated representative. The technical requisition that is
issued by the client will be the basis for the test protocol that will be developed before the
start of the test.
COMMISSIONING
MANAGEMENT
Salami Lateef is an Electrical Engineer with over 10 years experience in Power system
solutions, Industrial Control and Automation. He was amongst the top four in class at the
Standard Protection Code Course organized for experienced Power Holding Company of
Nigeria’s staff during his National Service year.
A 1999 graduate of the University of Ilorin, Salami cut his engineering teeth with Jiyoda
Engineering Nigeria Limited (JENL) under the tutelage of Engr. A.R.A Jimoh, a foremost
Nigerian consultant on energy with emphasis on power system engineering. In his 64
months’ sojourn at JENL, he was involved in the installation, testing and commissioning of
various power system equipment ranging from 120MVA transformer to Microprocessor
based protection relays in all of Nigeria’s 330kV Transmission Stations.
Salami thereafter took up appointment with one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous integrated
energy service provider – The Negris Group – as a Senior Electrical Engineer in November
2006. He was deployed unto Negris’ Ikorodu IPP as Lead Engineer/Construction Manager
where he supervised the installation and testing of all aspect of the power plant – the Gas
Turbine and its ancillaries, the erection of a 7.5MVA 33kV switchyard, the 11kV switchgear,
the LV Motor Control Center, the 500kVA station service transformer, the 1MVA Black Start
Generator and all other station ancillaries.
February 2008 saw Salami’s redeployment by Negris to Chevron Nigeria Limited’s LEPSU
project as Lead Engineer/Construction Manager where he played a pivotal role in the
installation and deployment of the 10.8MW capacity private generation at CNL’s head office
complex at Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria. Lateef is a member of The Nigerian Society of Engineer.
BAMIDELE, Akinwole Olubukola – Director, Projects
Bamidele Akinwole Olubukola is a Mechanical Engineer with experience in Power plant and
facilities construction, operations and maintenance.
A graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Bamidele has been involved in the detailed

engineering through construction to commissioning of a number of IPP projects amongst
which are Ikorodu Industrial Power Project (2004 – 2006), Ilupeju Industrial Power Project
(2007), Unipower Agbara Limited (2007)and Lekki Electrical Power System Upgrade
(LEPSU) Project (2008).
Bamidele has also garnered experience in other big ticket engineering projects aside power
plants. Some of these are; Project Manager for the installation of Turbo Pumps at Ebocha Oil
Field for NAOC (2010), member of the team that performed the technical evaluation of the 2
x 30MW power plant at the Newsprint Manufacturing Company, Oku Iboku which was
acquired by The Negris Group (2010).
Olajide Ajibola is a very versatile and resourceful engineer with a versed experience in
microprocessor programming, power supply systems, industrial electronic and automation
engineering.
Olajide graduated from the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department of The
Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1999. He started his career with Megascreen Limited as a technical
officer in 2001 from where he rose to become Technical Head by 2004 managing an 18-man
team. A feat that was largely due to his initiatives and resourcefulness by personally
undertaking the repairs of giant screens locally which were hitherto done oversea.
Olajide resigned from Megascreen Limited in 2004 to start Basic Electrical/Electronics Works
Limited a platform on which he has executed many innovative engineering solutions for a
large number of clients including PHCN, Nigerian Brewery, Nigerian Bottling Company,
Onward Paper Mills and The Negris Group amongst others.
Olajide joined Salqas Nigeria Limited (SNL) as a founding member in January 2009 and has
brought his experience to good contributing to the modest achievements recorded so far by
