Professor equivalent at the preceding degree with a very good below 45 academic record throughout years • Expected to have supervised major research projects • Should have at least 6 years (relaxable in exceptional cases) of Post-doctoral research/teaching/ industrial experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Professor • Ph. D. in the appropriate branch; a first class or Preferably equivalent at the preceding degree with a very good below 45 academic record throughout years • Outstanding contribution in their area of research; • Should have supervised doctoral students/major research projects. • Should have at least 10 years’ (relaxable in exceptional cases) of Post-doctoral research/ teaching/industrial experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor.
Institute Support for New Faculty Members:
In addition to the pay package, the Institute offers several incentives for professional and personal development of the new faculty members. These include • (For Assistant Professors only): Start-up research grants of up to Rs. 15 Lakhs may be provided in the first year after joining upon submission of a suitable proposal; higher start-up grants may be considered favourably for those proposals which require expensive research equipment. • Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs. 3 Lakhs for every block period of 3 th years (expected to be increased on implementation of pay revision in line with the 7 Pay Commission recommendation). • Several well-established mechanisms for interaction with the industry, and other professional bodies, for research projects as well as for consultancy. • The C-CAIR at the Institute facilitates faculty entrepreneurship, as well as faculty involvement in start-ups. • Accommodation in campus housing based on availability. • Attractive medical facilities and medical insurance scheme. • Reimbursement of travel and relocation expenses is provided as per GoI norms.
Reservation: Without any compromise on qualifications, experience and competence, reservation as per Government of India rules applicable to ISI will be followed. Reservation for differently abled candidates will also be allowed as per Government of India rules. Necessary certificates should be enclosed with the application form.
