    ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

    DESIGN BRIEF - CULTURAL VILLAGE

    Aim:

     To revitalize linked urban infrastructure for heritage where in tourists can connect
    directly with city’s unique character.
     To explain the total culture and settlement of this heritage town where in people
    can relate the cultural center to the heart of Kanchipuram.

    Objectives:

     Planning, development and implementation of heritage-sensitive infrastructure

     Service Delivery and infrastructure provisioning in the core areas of the historic
    city
     Develop and document a heritage asset inventory of cities – natural, cultural,
    living and built heritage as a basis for urban planning, growth, service provision
    and delivery
     To create awareness of contemporary urban issues as well as to enhance the
    historical background.
     To encourage and develop tourism
     Focusing Kanchipuram to emerge as a “Heritage Tourist Destination”.

    Proposal:

     To strengthen the ancient roots of Indian culture, evolve and enrich composite culture
    of the area. The cultural Center have to be establish to bring the indigenous cultural of
    the zone closer to the masses and make them understand experience educate and
    enjoy this culture of our country. This will not only help the place to keep alive the
    cultural values and traditions but will also keep it emotionally integrated. This Center
    should be instrumental in providing a very strong infrastructure to the artists and to
    showcase their talents in the direction of preservation, promotion and dissemination of
    Kanchipuram art and culture in its entire spectrum.
