    ֵ ‫הוֹ‬
    ‫הוֵֹשַׁﬠ‬-‫ ֶאל‬,‫ ְיהָוה ֲאֶשׁר ָהָיה‬-‫א ְדַּבר‬ 1 The word of the LORD that came
    unto Hosea the son of Beeri, in the
    ‫ ִבּיֵמי ֻﬠִזָּיּה יוָֹתם ָאָחז‬,‫ְבֵּא ִרי‬-‫ֶבּן‬ days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and
    ‫וִּביֵמי ָיָרְבָﬠם‬--‫ ַמְלֵכי ְיהוָּדה‬,‫ְיִחְזִקָיּה‬ Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the
    .‫ ֶמֶל ִיְשָׂרֵאל‬,‫יוָֹאשׁ‬-‫ֶבּן‬ days of Jeroboam the son of Joash,
    king of Israel.

    {‫ }פ‬:‫ ְבּהוֵֹשַׁﬠ‬,‫ ְיהָוה‬-‫ב ְתִּחַלּת ִדֶּבּר‬ 2 When the LORD spoke at first with

    ‫ְל‬-‫ ֵל ַקח‬,‫הוֵֹשַׁﬠ‬-‫ַויּ ֹאֶמר ְיהָוה ֶאל‬ the LORD said unto Hosea: 'Go, take
    ‫ָז ֹנה‬-‫ִכּי‬--‫ֵאֶשׁת ְזנוּ ִנים ְוַיְלֵדי ְזנוּ ִנים‬ unto thee a wife of harlotry and
    children of harlotry; for the land doth
    .‫ ֵמַאֲחֵרי ְיהָוה‬,‫ִתְזֶנה ָהָאֶרץ‬ commit great harlotry, departing from
    the LORD.'

    -‫ ַבּת‬,‫ֹגֶּמר‬-‫ ֶאת‬,‫ ַו ִיַּקּח‬, ‫ג ַוֵיֶּל‬ 3 So he went and took Gomer the


    daughter of Diblaim; and she
    .‫ ֵבּן‬,‫לוֹ‬-‫ִדְּבָל ִים; ַוַתַּהר ַוֵתֶּלד‬ conceived, and bore him a son.

    ‫ ְקָרא ְשׁמוֹ‬,‫ד ַויּ ֹאֶמר ְיהָוה ֵאָליו‬ 4 And the LORD said unto him: 'Call
    his name Jezreel; for yet a little while,
    -‫ וָּפַקְדִתּי ֶאת‬,‫עוֹד ְמַﬠט‬-‫ ִכּי‬:‫ִיְז ְרֶﬠאל‬ and I will visit the blood of Jezreel
    ,‫ֵבּית ֵיהוּא‬-‫ְדֵּמי ִיְז ְרֶﬠאל ַﬠל‬ upon the house of Jehu, and will cause
    .‫ ַמְמְלכוּת ֵבּית ִיְשָׂרֵאל‬,‫ְוִהְשַׁבִּתּי‬ to cease the kingdom of the house of
    Israel.

    -‫ ַבּיּוֹם ַההוּא; ְוָשַׁב ְרִתּי ֶאת‬,‫ה ְוָהָיה‬ 5 And it shall come to pass at that day,
    that I will break the bow of Israel in
    .‫ ְבֵּﬠֶמק ִיְז ְרֶﬠאל‬,‫ֶקֶשׁת ִיְשָׂרֵאל‬ the valley of Jezreel.'

    ,‫ ַויּ ֹאֶמר לוֹ‬,‫ ַוֵתֶּלד ַבּת‬,‫ו ַוַתַּהר עוֹד‬ 6 And she conceived again, and bore a
    daughter. And He said unto him: 'Call
    ‫ ִכּי ל ֹא אוִֹסיף‬:‫ְקָרא ְשָׁמהּ ל ֹא ֻרָחָמה‬ her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no
    -‫ִכּי‬--‫ֵבּית ִיְשָׂרֵאל‬-‫ ֲאַרֵחם ֶאת‬,‫עוֹד‬ more have compassion upon the house
    .‫ ָלֶהם‬,‫ָנשׂ ֹא ֶאָשּׂא‬ of Israel, that I should in any wise
    pardon them.

    ,‫ֵבּית ְיהוָּדה ֲאַרֵחם‬-‫ז ְוֶאת‬ 7 But I will have compassion upon the
    house of Judah, and will save them by
    ‫ְוהוַֹשְׁﬠִתּים ַבּיהָוה ֱא ֵהיֶהם; ְול ֹא‬ the LORD their God, and will not save
    ,‫ ְבֶּקֶשׁת וְּבֶחֶרב וְּבִמְלָחָמה‬,‫אוִֹשׁיֵﬠם‬ them by bow, nor by sword, nor by
    .‫ וְּבָפָרִשׁים‬,‫ְבּסוִּסים‬ battle, nor by horses, nor by
    horsemen.'

    ,‫ל ֹא ֻרָחָמה; ַוַתַּהר‬-‫ ֶאת‬,‫ח ַוִתְּגֹמל‬ 8 Now when she had weaned Lo-
    ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a
    .‫ַוֵתֶּלד ֵבּן‬ son.

    ‫ ִכּי‬:‫ ְקָרא ְשׁמוֹ ל ֹא ַﬠִמּי‬,‫ט ַויּ ֹאֶמר‬ 9 And He said: 'Call his name Lo-
    ammi; for ye are not My people, and I
    ‫ֶאְהֶיה‬-‫ ְוָא ֹנִכי ל ֹא‬,‫ַאֶתּם ל ֹא ַﬠִמּי‬ will not be yours.' {P}
