    Philippine Fault Line

    When the Big One comes, do you know where you and your family can stay? Do you know where a safe and
    clear area where the grounds won’t break? Because your home or office area may not be as secure as you think.
    The Philippine fault zone (PFZ) has 1,200 km-long fault line that goes from Ilocos, Zambales, and Tubao, La
    Union down to Masbate, West Panay, Bohol, and Davao. A fault line is a crack or fracture on the ground that
    occurs when the Earth’s tectonic plates move or shift. These areas are where earthquakes are likely to occur.
    West Ilocos Fault System

     Major cities- The Central Leyte Fault stretches in areas part of Mahaplag, Ormoc City, Kananga, Capoocan,
    Javier, MacArthur, La Paz, Abuyog, Burauen, Leyte, and Albuera. Making it a high-rish area during earthquakes.
     Population- 2,388,518
