SOLAR - SOLAR CLASSROOM IN A BOX INFORMATION
Technology is increasingly becoming a driving force in education. The ALEUTIA Solar Classroom-in-a-Box
(CIAB) was developed specifically to overcome the challenges of delivering ICT in rural Africa and Asia. From
the project’s inception, ALEUTIA has focussed on providing a solution that is energy-efficient, rugged, and self-
contained.
Educational software pre-loaded on 6-12 PCs ready to setup anywhere with sunlight.
TV Tuner card (optional) to transform ALEUTIA PC into a solar TV.
X1 Server can share 3G connection wirelessly (or via ethernet) with all the computers in classroom,
serving as a 3G Access Point.
Weatherproof and roof-mountable solar panels provide permanent electricity to power CIAB.
Charge Controller allows you to use electricity while simultaneously charging battery.
Complete 12V DC solution – no need for expensive & wasteful inverter.
Solar panels generate enough energy to power the complete solution – 84 hours (7 days) of sunlight
powers classroom for 50 hours.
Offer classes during the day and operate at night when there is no sunlight as an Internet cafe.

SOLAR TV
Most ALEUTIA computers can be fitted with an internal TV TUNER card. Just plug in the supplied antenna and
you can watch all channels broadcast on a digital (DVB-T) or analogue signal.

Most desktops are noisy, bulky, and use lots of power.

Our PCs are silent, tiny, and use very little power.

A typical desktop consumes 100-150 Watts of Power.

Our best selling PC, the T1, consumes 18 Watts of Power.

Even our Intel Core i3-based PCs use just 30W.

All of our products run on Direct Current (DC), making it easy to connect
them to 12V batteries and solar panels.

Most of our PCs have no moving parts, ensuring reliability in remote places.

Aleutia works closely with local distributors to ensure outstanding support.
