Course Handbook: Department of Electrical Engineering Namal College Mianwali

This document outlines the course handbook for the Digital Signal Processing course offered at Namal College in Spring 2019. The course aims to introduce students to analyzing and designing discrete-time signals and systems using tools like the impulse response, Fourier transform, Z-transform, and filters. Students will learn to apply these tools to analyze systems, design single and multirate digital filters, and classify different implementation structures of discrete-time filters. The course will be taught over 15 weeks and cover topics such as the discrete Fourier transform, Z-transform, multirate signal processing, filter design techniques, and realization of discrete-time filters.

General Policies  Topics and schedule mentioned here are tentative. They may be slightly changed
depending on the interest / pace of class.
 There will be student consultation (office) hours every week
 Additional to disciplinary policies of the department / college, plagiarism will be
strictly dealt with. Cheating any assignment, quiz or exam from any one else
may lead to severe penalty of grade. Violation of rules / involvement in
plagiarism may easily lead you to an “F” in the module, repeat of exam, year, or
expulsion from college.
 Evaluation will be based on all class discussions, handouts, recommended
readings, slides, home works etc.
 Detailed policies will be communicated with passage of time.
