Compression Testing Machine CTM
Compression Testing Machine CTM
Compression Testing Machine CTM
MODEL-RCTM
LOADING UNIT:
The loading unit is of fully welded construction having a cross head, base and solid plates. The
hydraulic jack is fixed to the base. The platens of the machine are hardened, ground and polished. The
upper platen is provided with self-aligning action. To facilitate testing of various size specimens,
suitable size spacers are provided complete with ball seating arrangement
PUMPING UNIT:
Hydraulic pump provides continuously non-pulsating oil flow. Hence the load application is very smooth.
Hand operates wheels are used to control the flow to and from the hydraulic cylinder. The regulation of
oil flow is infinitely variable incorporated in the hydraulic system is a regulating valve which maintains a
practically constant rate of piston movement. Control by this valve allows very low strain rates.
The pump facilitates rapid approach of the platens for daylight closure and also provides
comprehensive control over the application of load. A control valve provides fine control over the
loading rate for accuracy of pacing. The digital read-out unit incorporates a 4-digit display, calibrated in
KN and features integral load pacing in KN/sec. Maximum load is held and retained for approx 15 min,
unless cancelled, using the panel mounted reset switch. Pace rate set for running the test can be
maintained with the help of a bar graph indicator. Logged data printing facility through a RS232
interface is provided in the machine.. The operation of Machine is detailed in the operating Manual
supplied along with the Machine. Operation of the machine is by hydraulic transmission of load
from the test specimen though pressure transducer to a separately housed load indicator.
The Hydraulic system is ideal because it replaces all mechanical parts for transmission of load, Which
may wear out & Damage due to Shock after rupture of test sample. The machine is equipped pressure
transducer & digital encoder as a sensor. Hand operated wheels are used to control the flow to and
from the hydraulic cylinder. The regulation of oil flow infinitely variable, Incorporated in the hydraulic
systems a regulating valve, which maintains a practically constant rate of piston movement. Control by
this valve allows extensometer readings to be taken.
Features:
Calibration and accuracy of Compression Testing Machine comply with Grade "A" of BS: 1610: Part
1:1992 and class 1 of IS 1828: (Part1): 1991 an accuracy of + 1.0% is guaranteed from 20% from 20%
of the load range selected to full load. Below 20% of the selected range, the maximum permissible error
is 0.2% of the full load reading. NABL traceable calibration certificate can be provided as per customer
request.
As per Standard IS: 516 and IS : 14858.load can be increased at following rates -
Due to constant R & D, specifications and features are subject to change without notice.
