Experiences of MAC student nurses during their clinical practice

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

This study is about Nursing student’s experiences of their clinical practice provide greater

insight to develop an effective clinical teaching strategy in nursing education. Clinical experience

has been always an integral part of nursing education. It prepares student nurses to be able of

"doing" as well as "knowing" the clinical principles in practice. The clinical practice stimulates

students to use their critical thinking skills for problem solving.

Nursing education is now predominately undertaken within higher education institutions

through either baccalaureate (undergraduate) or graduate entry pre-registration courses. Clinical

practice in community settings can provide valuable learning opportunities for undergraduate

nursing students.

Why could experiences of clinical duty be an important factor in MAC student nurses ? A

key component of this pre-registration nurse education is clinical placement experience.

Placements provide an opportunity for students to be socialised into the health system, practice

clinical skills in a real-life setting and observe the delivery of care by others.

 To the School Administrators, to suggest whether to consider different method for further

development the quality of their clinical duty that to be made during preregistration to

nursing program

 To other Researchers, to provide additional information and findings that would help in

further studies regarding the topic.

Scope and Delimitation:

The research was conducted from second year to fourth year nursing students of private

nursing school in year.

The limitation of the study is that not all nursing students were included in the sample of

the study. First years were eliminated since they still do not have clinical duties, so we only include

from 2nd year to 4th year in our interview .
