During the implementation of the task, the Chemical Department has requested the
Japanese side to provide technical support for the construction of a national chemical
database storage system and draft a national chemical list. This activity is within the
framework of the project "Strengthening chemical management capacity" supported by
the Japanese Government through the Ministry of Industry and Trade through the Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
With the help of Japanese experts, the Chemical Department has completed the task of
building a national chemical database storage system and operating it at
www.chemicaldata.gov.vn since August 1, 2018.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Chemical Information added, the
system will be the official information channel, meeting the needs of accessing and
exploiting information and data to serve businesses in the implementation of regulations
on chemical management as well as developing plans to control risks and dangers of
chemicals to the environment and the community.
In addition, the national chemical database will synthesize and process data on
chemical activities, serving the development of industry development and management
planning, and provide data for work. responding to chemical incidents and acting as an
important technical infrastructure to redirect chemical management in Vietnam based on
the results of risk assessment, access to the modern level of chemical management of
countries development in the world.

The Instructions for using National Chemical Database on January 1st,2019
- Implementing the Scheme on Building the National Chemical List and National
Chemical Database according to Decision No. 768 / QD-TTg dated June 22,
