Indian Standard
WELDED STEEL WIRE FABRIC FOR
GENERAL USE — SPECIFICATION
(Second Revision)
Ics 77.140.55
Q BIS 2002’
FOREWORD
This Indian Standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by Bui Iders
Hardware Sectional Committee had been approved by the Civil Engineering Division Council.
This standard was first published in 1968 and revised in 1974. The second revision of this standard has been
taken up to incorporate changes in the standard found necessary in the light of developments that has taken
place in the field. Important changes made in this revision are :
a) Use of stainless steel wire has been included.
b) Amendments No. 1 and 2 issued to the standard earlier has been incorporated.
c) Requirements for finish of wire have been modified.
The composition of the Committee responsible for formulation of this standard is given in Annex C,
For the purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with, the final value,
observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with
IS 2: 1960 ‘Rules for rounding off numerical values (revised.’ The number of significant places retained in the
rounded off value should be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
