SWOT Analysis is an instrument used in organizations for strategic planning and strategic
management. In order to build organizational strategy and competitive strategy, it can be used
effectively. SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis is a framework
used to evaluate a company's competitive position and to develop strategic planning. SWOT
analysis assesses internal and external factors, as well as current and future potential (Sosyal,
2017).

Strengths

1. Large company
PETRONAS is a large company as is well known as is a state-owned oil and natural
gas company based out of Malaysia. PETRONAS also ranked among Fortune Global
500's largest corporations in the world. Fortune ranks PETRONAS as the 75th largest
company in the world in 2013. Fortune also ranks PETRONAS as the world’s eighth
most profitable and Asia's most profitable company. This company also supplied its
customer with 161 gas stations in Malaysia.

2. Strong customer relationships:


PDB is a company which has very strong relationships with their customers. One effort
that the company has always taken include understanding all the needs of a customer
which are connected to oil and gas and develop products that cater to all those needs.

3. Diverse Range of Businesses


PDB operates a diverse range of businesses that include Crude Oil Products, Crude Oil
Assays, Petroleum Products, Petrochemical Products, Shipping and Maritime Services.

4. Reorganized Operation
With the escalating challenges and demands faced by the business, greater emphasis
has been placed on maintaining PDB high performance environment by developing and
retaining the right talent to steer the Company to greater heights.
