to get around a city.
Do you agree or disagree?

before even starting work. This is an undesirable situation.
Take a stance and respond to this argument.
THESIS:

6. Some people think children in secondary school should study international news as part of the curriculum. Others
think that this would be a waste of time as there are already too many subjects for children to concentrate on.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

7. Science and technology have helped the world make many advances. The Arts, such as painting, theatre and dance,
to name just three examples, however, are also valuable.
What things do the Arts provide to the world that Science and Technology do not?
THESIS:

8. Increasingly, the western world has been outsourcing its labor-related jobs to cheaper alternatives available in less-
developed countries. Although this creates opportunities for people in poorer nations, it is a policy that is criticized by
many in the west.
Write an essay response supporting the case for the outsourcing of labor-related jobs.
THESIS:

9. Violence among young people has increased dramatically over the past 50 years. This rise moves in tandem with a
growth in violent media. Thus, the conclusion can be drawn that violent media is the main cause of violence among
young people. Refute this claim.
