Research Instrument

The research instrument that will be used in the study isa standardized

questionnaire by Cory E. Wallack. The questionnaires is composed of two parts.

16

Part I is on the socio-demographic profile of the respondents and Part II will be

composed of 10 questions regarding the suicide ideation among the respondents

that are answerable with the 5 point Likert scale.

Reliability and Validity

The standardized questionnaire will be validated by the experts in

research, program chairperson and radiologic technologists. To establish validity

and reliability, the researchers will be soliciting the expertise of the panel of

experts to validate the questionnaire by giving them a copy to be evaluated.

Ethical Consideration

To complete research with appropriate research guidelines, research

ethics is important. Considering ethical aspect of research, enough time is given

to the respondents of the study so that they can depict their view on research

questions. Primary and secondary data will be used in this study. Consent with

the respondents will be taken, appropriate permission will also be ensured for

usage of their given data. Confidentiality of the respondents will be maintained

strictly to ensure privacy of their data. The disclosure of respondents identity will

be based on their permission whether if they are not willing to disclose identity.

Their identity will not be exhibited. Usage of any secondary data from the source

will be acknowledged with appropriate references. Hence, the ethical aspect will

be followed very strictly in this research.

Data Gathering Procedure

The following steps were observed in the conduct of this study. First, a

letter of permission was send to the Dean of Allied Medicine and likewise to the

program chairperson for the approval of the conduct of the study. Once it has

been approved, the researchers then administered the survey questionnaire to

the respondents thereafter, the respondents were asked to read the directions

and answer the survey questionnaire as honestly as they possibly could with the

researcher reminding them that their answer will be kept completely confidential.

After the respondents have finished filling out the survey questionnaire the

researchers and thanked them for cooperating with them in the completion of the

study.

Statistical Treatment

The data gathered will be analysed, computed, and interpreted using the

following statistical tools:

Frequency counts percentage and mean will be used to determine the

demographic profile of the respondents.

Weighted mean will be used to determine the mean average of suicide

ideation scale of the respondents.

T – Test and Analysis of Variance will be used to determine the significant

differences of the respondents according to their profile.
