BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Information and communication technology (ICT) technology is an extensional term for


information technology it was fist use in 1940s, information technology was used in the World War II
alliance of the military and industry in the development of electronics, computers, and information theory,
the military remained the major source of research and development funding for the expansion of
automation to replace manpower with machine power.In 1950s, . The military used Information
technology as circuits on a single computer chip that store information. In 1951 UNIVAC I appear, the
first commercial Computer developed by John Eckert and John W. Mauchly. It was used by the Census
Bureau to predict the outcome of the 1952 presidential election. For the next twenty-five years,
information Technology were used in large corporations to do calculations, manipulate large amounts of
information stored in the database and to illustrates any technology which helps to manufacture,
accumulate, communicate or broadcast information.Recently it has become popular to broaden the term to
explicitly include the field of electronic communication so that people tend to use the abbreviation ICT
(Information and Communications Technology).

ICT, or information and communications technology (or technologies), is the infrastructure and
also components that enable modern computing it is generally accepted to mean all devices, networking
components, applications and systems that combined allow people and organizations to interact in the
digital world. Today, as we enter in the modern age era Information and Communication Technology
(ICT) is not just a machine power that restore data or a tool technologies that provide access to
information through telecommunication but also an instrument that developed infrastructure and services,
ranging from telecommunications,banking,education,health,and society.

In the past few decades,the emerging features of the “New Economy ”can be seen everywhere for
instance,ICT sector contributing to rapid technological progress and productivity growth of an economy
changing the economic .t the heart of these changes are the innovations made possible by Information and
Communication Technology (ICT) Because it is one of the main drivers of growth to both economic and
social development but unfortunately, Not every one have access to the internet and do have enough
knowledge in terms of ICT, this problem is known as “Digital Divide”. Digital divide is refers to the gap
between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications
technology, and those that don't or have restricted access. In the philippines Digital divide is also
(problem connect sa pilipinas) many places in the philippines specialy in provinces have no access to the
internet in addition many of the people in there are ignorant when it comes to"technology" as a result
they have limited accessibility ICT to be denied of educational and socioeconomic opportunities.
In the philippines, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)the
administrative entity of the Executive Branch of the government that plans, develops, and promotes the
national ICT development one of their agenda here in the philippines is to Bringing the Digital divide
that close the gap between those who have access to computers and internet, and those who do not that
that will narrow down the digital divide in the country through the Technology Empowerment For
Education,Employment,Entreprenuer and Economic Development (Tech4Ed) project.

The government's Tech4ED project provides access points for individuals and communities to
bridge the digital and education divide and also It promotes grassroots development opportunities for
inclusive growth and poverty reduction. Project Tech4Ed will give communities access to information,
communication, technology, government services, non-formal education, skills training, telehealth, job
markets, and business portals.The project aims to improve Filipinos' digital literacy and bring online
learning and government services closer to the people and set up community centers around the
country where out-of-school youth, senior citizens, housewives, and other underserved sectors of
society can have access to online government services and learning modules for skills.

Since its launch in 2014, Tech4ED has built up a varied mix of members: from students and fresh
graduates looking to pick up new skills, government officials wanting to be digitally literate, and
housewives and mothers wanting to learn how to set up and manage a small business. As of 2018 there
are 3,943 Tech4ED centers have been established nationwide in Luzon there are 2,683 in NCR 73, in
Visayas 358 and in Mindanao 829.

OBJECTIVE: The researcher conduct the study to find out how many students in ALLSHS are aware in
project tech4ed and to inform them about the project of goverment TECH4ED in Carmona Sy 2019-2020

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

This study aims to find out how many students in ALSHS are aware in the project of goverment
TECH4ED in Carmona Sy: 2019 2020

SCOPE AND LIMITATION

The research focused mainly on assingfinding the number of the students in ALLSHS who are
aware to the project tech4ed and to provide information about the project Tech4ed in Carmona

The researches limited the study to the students enrolled in Angelo Levardo Senior High
School (ALLSHS) School Year 2019-2020

Significance of the Study

helpthem to be a better analyst and it can be a help as a future reference for more studies in
