CANDIDATE'S DECLARATION
I hereby certify that the work which is being presented in the thesis entitled, “Super-
resolution and Deconvulation of images”, by Kangan Sardar Singh (1420935) in partial
fulfillment of requirement for the award of degree of M.Tech. (Computer Science &
Engineering) submitted at Bahra Group of Institutes, Patiala Campus under Punjab
Technical University, Jalandhar is an authentic record of my own work carried out during
a period from Jan. 2016 to June 2017 under the supervision of Er. Indepreet Kaur,
Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The matter
presented in this thesis has not been submitted by me in any other University / Institute
for the award of M. Tech Degree.
This is to certify that the above statement made by the candidate is correct to the best

ABSTRACT
The work in this dissertation involves the correlation and comparison of various existing
methodologies to enhance a given image in wavelet domain and enhance its glare. The
research is totally based on the enhancement of the image in terms of size and quality
on zooming.
The image quality metric is a highly considerable factor in the field of image processing
as it can play a number of roles: it can be used to dynamically monitor and adjust image
quality; second, it can be used to optimize algorithms and parameter settings of image
processing systems. Third, it can be used to benchmark image processing systems and
algorithms as zoomed images are sharper as compared to other methods.
Thus, with reference to all these factors, the presented work studies various image
enhancement techniques in the wavelet domain. Performance of all the studied
techniques is measured by calculating Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) values of the
resulting images. This analysis determines some of the best techniques out of existing
methodologies.
