C. SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the 1.5 hours lesson, the students are expected to learn the:
A. the various aspects of holistic development: physiological, cognitive,
psychological, spiritual, and social development
B. illustrate the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in
a person’s holistic development
C. discuss the relationship among physiological, cognitive, psychological,
spiritual, and social development to understand his/her thoughts,
feelings, and behaviors
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. Topic: Kapwa ko, Kapamilya ko: The Filipino Self and the Family
B. References:
1. Social Psychology in the Philippine Context
C. Material: pictures, slides, and visual aids
III. PROCEDURE
A. Preparation

3. Preliminary questions:
a. What are the types of families
b. How can a family help a person to build him/herself.
B. Presentation
1. Definition of Conformity
A characteristic of human beings that adhere to group norms and
standards. Conformity is a natural process in social life.
2. Norms are ideas about what is correct behavior for members
considered acceptable and proper in a particular culture. Norms
control our behavior although we may not be aware that they exist.
We are used to how we do things in our own culture. At times, it is
only in visiting another culture that we become aware of our own
social norms.
3. Roles- every member of a family portrays a role. It refers to the norms
and expectations attached to a particular position or status in society.
4. Familism is defined as norms of collective support, allegiance and
obligation to the family.
5. Utang na loob- defined as the cultural law of reciprocity or the ideal
way of relating with others and is one of the cultural assumptions
Filipino make about social behavior.

Draw your genogram and write a short essay about your family tree.
