Animals are our companions, our workers, our eyes and ears, and even our food.

We
have domesticated some of them, while others remain wild and are sometimes
endangered by our activities. They keep us company, and while they can provide
comic relief, they also serve us as valuable assistants. But some degrading cases that
were done by the people to animals is that, they used animals to develop medical
treatments, check the safety of products destined for human use, and other health care
uses. As I go on with, I will discuss to you my insights or stand of this question: Is the
idea of using the animals for experimental purposes is good or not?

First and foremost, According on the Bible (1995) Proverbs 12:10 states: "Good
people take care of their animals, but wicked people are cruel to theirs...." religious
traditions tell us to be merciful to animals, so we should not cause them suffering by
experimenting on them. This argument also implies that we should not do harm to
other living beings such as animals, because if we do we are closely alike to immoral
people.

Secondly, According to Animal Welfare Act (2006) "Promulgate standards to govern

the humane handling, care, treatment, and transportation of animals by dealers,
research facilities, and exhibitors.". This act implies that ony 95% of animals used in
experiments are not protected by the AWA. as only over 1 million animals are covered
by the AWA as of 2010, around 25 million more are left unprotected from abuse and
mistreatment, like doing such testings on animals to do experimentations. And
because animal experimentations are being regulated by the committee that is selected
by the facility itself, animal subjects are even put at a bigger risk of being treated
poorly for their entire existence.

Finally, the last argument I will going to discuss is according to Humane Society
International (n.d.) "Animal tests are more expensive than alternative methods and are
a waste of government research dollars." Humane Society International compared a
variety of animal tests with their in vitro ccounterparts and found animal tests were
more expensive in every scenario studied. This argument tells us that there are
alternatives to animal experimentation that are considered possible of doing, such cell
cultures in a petri dish and in vitro testing, which can even produce more relevant
results than those from vivisection. The same thing goes to using artificial human
skin, where virtual reconstructions of human molecular structures are done through
computer models. And for testing adverse reactions, there is also the method called
microdosing, where small doses are being administered on humans themselves.

In conclusion, I am not in favor of using animals for experimental purposes, because

as God said to us that we, human beings should treat animals with kindness and
forgiveness, not cruel nor harsh; giving relief from pain. As for the second argument,
It is under degrading practice because, it uses animals that are not covered by the
Animal Welfare Act. The third argument is, it is performed despite the existence of
less expensive alternatives. Despite of these arguments, the time passes by we grow
older and older, as ourselves grow older know already what is good and what is bad.
Do not just ignore this unmerciful doings of some people by killing or poisoning
animals just to use them in experimental purposes. Do not just sit there as if you don't
know everything. Help the animals to have the right to live. Be Responsible!
