Experience
Olive-Mary Stitt Elementary/ Art Instructor
August 2006 - PRESENT, Arlington Heights, IL
- Responsible for teaching 25 classes per year (approximately 500
students a week) in the visual arts using a wide variety of mediums, from
sculpture, drawing, painting, fibers, and graphic arts. Curriculum is
differentiated according to age and ability level.
- Liaison for the yearly Arlington Heights Memorial Library art show.
- Team leader from 2012-2014 and 2016-2018. I organized various P.D.
opportunities for our team, such as going to the IAEA Conference,
attending a class at the Fine Line Creative Arts Center, touring the
Museum of Contemporary Art with their education department, and
hosting a viewing party of PBS’s Art 21.
- Mentor for two District 25 art teachers during their first year.
- Cooperating teacher for student teacher in 2013.
- Led workshops for District 25 teachers during our opening day and for
our January SIP day, with topics ranging from integrating technology in
art education to using art therapy techniques in the classroom.
- Lead Clay Night every winter for Olive students and parents to
collaboratively create a ceramic piece.
- Lead a station on using recyclable materials for art-making at our yearly
Earth Fair.
- Main full time supervisor in our lunchroom.

magazine featuring the 24th annual District#25 Art Show.
- Received a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to
study the life and work of Winslow Homer in Massachusetts in the
summer of 2009.
- Article published in Art and Activities magazine, 2008.
