Artidjo Alkostar

Artidjo Alkostar (born on Situbondo, East Java, 22 May 1948, age 71 year) is
an Indonesian legal expert. He is a chief justice who was received much
attention to decisions and statements of dissent in many major cases. He
currently serves as the Chair of the Indonesian Supreme Court Criminal
Chamber. his father and mother came from Sumenep , Madura . He
completed his high school education in Asem Bagus, Situbondo. Then, he
entered the Faculty of Law (FH) Indonesian Islamic University (UII),
Yogyakarta.

During his tenure as a Chief Justice, it was noted that several defendants of
corruption were severely punished. The Democratic Party politician, Angelina
Sondakh, who was sentenced in the first court to 4.5 years in prison, at the
appeal rate plus her sentence by Artidjo to 12 years in prison.

Chief Justice Artidjo Alkostar rejected the award from the Indonesian Islamic
University (UII). Artidjo conveyed the refusal through his official letter dated
December 24, 2013. The reason for the refusal was because it was hampered
by the judge's code of ethics, including the Supreme Court Judge who was
forbidden from receiving awards.

I like him because in lifestyle is very simple. For example in the event he
explained that he departed work using Bajaj. Characteristics of him in the
