Rizal's second sojourn in Europe

HONG KONG

 In the middle of March 1889, Rizal left the Beckett family in London

 He also visited Trinidad Pardo de Tavera and Juan Luna

 The Kidlat Club aimed to revivenationalism among Filipinos

 Indios Bravos - the group advocated Filipino pride of their race instead of being ashamed of it.

JAPAN

 Rizal arrived in San Francisco on April 28,1888

 the passengers of the vessel Belgic were not allowed to disembark and had to be quarantined

 Rizal disembark on May 4,1888. He registered at the Palace Hotel

Sad news from the Philippines

 on the 19th of February 1888, Rizal boarded the boat Kui Kiang that took him to Macau.

 on September 1888, Rizal received a cable from his compatriots in Hong Kong that Noli was
banned in the Philippines.

 the family engaged the services of Ambrosio Rianzares to defend them but he backed out for
fear of the Dominican friars.

 On February 22,1888 he boarded the steamship Oceanic bound for Japan and on the 28th in
Yokohama.

 Spanish Charge d'Affaires Juan Perez Caballero invited Rizal to stay in the Spanish Embassy.

 "it was a country of great beauty; its people were industrious, clean, honest and polite; its
women were dressed picturesquely and were charming; there are few thieves and beggar"

 he befriended Tetcho Suehiro

 he developed a close and intimate relationship with O Sei-San
