DENR AO # 98-10. Sec. 3.

Cutting or harvesting of mangrove species are allowed


provided that they are planted by the CBFMA holders and that the harvesting operations
are included in the affirmed Community Resource Management Framework, Ancestral
Domain Management Plan or Protected Area Plan. And that the replanting area
harvested shall be undertaken within six months after harvesting operations.

DENR AO # 74. Series of 1987. Bans the cutting of Almaciga nationwide in order to
save the remaining stands of almaciga, safeguard the livelihood of almaciga resin
gatherers, and assure a continuous supply of resin export in the international market.

DENR AO #59. Sec. 4. Types of COFs to Accompany Transport/Shipment of Forest


Products. The transport / shipment of forest products shall be accompanied or covered
by the Certificate of Timber origin (CTO) for logs, Certificate of Lumber Origin (CLO) for
timber, and Certificate of non-timber Forest Products Origin (CNTFPO). Without the
COF fully and properly accomplished, forest products that are transported and shipped
will be presumed as illegal sources and shall be subject to confiscation and disposition.

DENR AO # 34. Sec. 13. Narra from other sources. Narra trees uprooted by typhoons,
earthquakes, landslides and other calamities and drifted from their areas of origin and
that is presumed to come from the public forest should be reported immediately to the
nearest DENR office for disposition. The finder of said trees will be entitled to a reward
equivalent to ten (10%) percent of the price value of the logs / flitches or trees found.

DENR AO # 42. Sec. 13.1.11. IFMA Solely for Plantation Development. No trees in the
leased area should be cut regardless of species even if found within twenty (20) meters
from banks of rivers or creeks of at least five (5) meters in width and of public roads. It
should be reforested by the lessee.

DENR AO # 24, Series of 1991 (May 3, 1991). Subject: Shift in logging from the old
growth (virgin) forests to the second growth (residual) forests. The logging operations
will be shifted to the second growth (residual) forests, except on the following areas
where logging shall also be prohibited; areas with slope of 50% and greater, in areas
above 1000 meters elevation, within 20 meters of either side of stream bank for stream
bank protection, wilderness, proclaimed watershed reservation, in areas identified with
historical value and in other areas proclaimed for ecological and environmental
protection. In areas which have been logged 20 years ago or older, the results of the
inventory shall be submitted to the DENR within 6 months from date of this order.

DENR AO # 03, Series of 1992 (January 29, 1992) Subject: Ban in the use of
highlead yarding systems in the Dipterocarp Forests. Sec. 4. Use of highlead yarding is
allowed only in such areas as plantations and in pine forests where the seed-tree system
is practiced.

DENR AO # 96-26, Series of 1996 (September 10, 1996). Subject: Revised


Guidelines Governing the harvest and transport of planted trees and non-timber
products within Social Forestry Areas. Sec. 4.1. Only mature planted forest trees and
non-timber products duly inventoried shall be allowed to be harvested.

Republic Act # 3572. (November 26, 1929). An Act to prohibit the cutting of tindalo,
akle or molave trees, under certain conditions, and to penalize violations thereof. Sec.
1. The cutting in the public forests of tindalo, akle, or molave trees less than 60 cm. In
diameter measured at a height of 4 ft. from the ground is hereby prohibited.

Republic Act # 3571. (June 21, 1963). An act to prohibit the cutting, destroying or
injuring of planted or growing trees, flowering plants and shrubs or plants of scenic value
along public roads, in plazas, parks, school premises or in any other public ground.

DENR AO # 60, Series of 1993 and # 15, Series of 1994, which provide for the
conversion of TLAs to IFMAs.

DENR Memorandum Circular # 24. (July 13, 1994). Subject: Implementing


guidelines for the conversion of TLAs to IFMAs

The Forestry reform Code of the Philippines, PD 705. Sec. 27. Duration of License
Agreement or License to harvest in Forest Lands.

Republic Act # 9175. An act regulating the ownership, possession, sale, importation
and use of chainsaws, penalizing violations thereof and for other purposes, also known
as the “Chainsaw Act of 2002”.

DENR AO # 18 (May 25, 1994). Subject: Guideline governing the cutting, gathering
and disposition of edible fruit-bearing trees. The unauthorized cutting of the following
edible fruit-bearing trees/shrubs for timber or firewood is prohibited:

Executive Order # 247. Bio-prospecting Law Regulating the harvesting and gathering
of biological products and derivatives.

DENR AO # 7 (February 17, 1994). Subject: Revised guidelines governing the


issuance of Certificate of Origin for Logs, Timber, Lumber and Non-timber Forest
Products.

transporting of planted trees, timber cut in plantation forest covered by forestry tenure

DENR AO # 46. (October 21, 1992).. Amending item 1 of DENR AO #78 series of 1987
entitled “Interim Guidelines on cutting and gathering of narra and other premium species
but excluding acasia or rain tree. For the purpose of this order, premium hardwood
refers to narra, molave, dao, kamagong, ipil, akle, apanit, banuyo, batibuling, betis,
bolong-eta, kalantas, lanete, lumbayaw, sangilo, supa, teak, tindalo and manggis,
