As the Philippines continue to suffer local and international disputes, especially the recent wars
in Mindanao, people near those areas have been driven off their homes to avoid being stuck in
the battleground of their homelands. They might have lost their homes but they have never lost
their will to live and the support of our president. Some of them are suffering trauma and anxiety
after the life-scarring moments they have either witnessed or seen but they continue to be happy
because after the war, they have received financial aid, opened up jobs and careers for people
and especially the essential needs to live, clothing, home and food.
Yet this is not enough. A lot of people are still struggling to live because the resources they
received are not enough to sustain their daily lives. Luckily this issue has reached a lot of
international organizations like the United Nations and have made progress to respond to this
issue. One of these organizations is the USAID. They have made a large move by contributing 4
million dollars to the United Nations World Food Program to assist them in providing emergency
food and resources to conflict-affected people especially the people who have lost their homes
during the war of Marawi.
This is a good example of how diplomatic actions between countries affect the economy, way of
living and especially the people of each others’ countries. They can help each other during times
of hardships and will eventually solve it. If this continues, then maybe the hopes of many for
world peace might actually become possible. Whatever problem that happens inside a country,
good relations between other countries will be a solution. The Philippines as of now has good
diplomatic relations between others and will hopefully make it better to others.
