Distance: Sri Rangam is about 9 to 10 kms from Trichy bus station or railway station.

Thirukkatikai - (Sholingur) - Sri Yoga Narasimha Swamy Temple during morning hours only (between 8
a.m. to 12 p.m.)
From Sholingur bus stand or from the temple arch on the main road travel by a shared auto rickshaw
and ask the auto driver to drop you at the footsteps of the hill (3 to 4 kms from bus stand).
Rs. 5 per person (in 2008) in shared auto rickshaw from Sholingur bus stand to the temple footsteps.
Travel by the auto rickshaw up to the footsteps of the hill to save time and energy else you will be
tired walking in hot sun and find difficult walking 1305 steps.
Devotees will have to walk/climb 1305 steps by foot and no alternate arrangements are made to
reach the temple. There is no rope car to climb the temple nor winch. However, there is a coolie
service available. It costs Rs. 600 per person (in 2008) which includes both ascending and descending
the hill.
Note: This temple is on top of a hill. While walking 1305 steps you will come across several tens of
monkeys in groups which are hungry and look for people carrying eatables such as bannana, coconut,
fruits, flowers and soft drinks. Those monkeys always look out for people carrying food, flowers or
bags. They attack in groups and grab eatables, ladies vanity bags, ladies purse, luggage bag, and cell
phones from gents’ shirt pocket. They will not spare the flowers which ladies wear on their
hair/behind the head. They will grab those flowers and eat. You cannot fight the monkeys. To
overcome them, walk in empty hands.
Also at the footsteps of the hill buy a lengthy stick/cane costs Rs. 2 (in 2008). Do not beat the
monkeys with the cane/stick as they are harmless. Use them only to scare the monkeys. If you beat
them, they will get angry, you will be a victim and seen in the hospital.
Do not walk or climb steps alone as sometimes monkeys are dangerous. Even if you want to sit and
rest, sit in a group and rest. Do not sit or sleep alone. Always walk in a group of 5+ people. Do carry
water bottles without fail as you will be tired of walking.

By 7 a.m. you have to be at Sri Vaikundam Divya Desam so that you can see all 9 Divya Desam by
11:45 a.m.
It is about 100 to 110 kms from Tirunelveli round trip to visit all 9 Divya Desams and back to
Tirunelveli.
If you can depart Tirunelveli by 6:15 a.m., you can come back by 2 p.m. after visiting all 9 Divya
Desams.
77. Thiruttholai Villimangalam (Twin Thirupathis) - Sri Aravindha Lochana Perumal Temple
Route: From Thirukkulanthai travel towards Mangalamkurichi and then right turn towards
Mangalapuram up to Thiruttholai Villimangalam.
You can reach Thiruttholai Villimangalam from Perunkulam via Eral also. But the
distance is three times.
From Mangalapuram after driving for about 0.9 kms, see to your right for a bridge.
Drive on the bridge to join a muddy road and drive along the road until you reach tar
road.
Right turn as soon as you join tar road and drive straight until you reach Thirupperai
or Then Thiruppaerai.
Route: From Thirukkoloor drive back to join state highway and straight towards Alwar
Thirunagiri.

not allowed inside the temple. Those need to be kept at the locker at the right hand corner of the
temple entrance. The locker is very expensive and they do cheat in terms of pricing as there is no
fixed pricing. We advise you to drop your cell phones, cameras, shoes, chappal and luggage in your
vehicle itself and be safe.
There are 6 most beautiful Divya Desam which you can see in one day by staying at Chengannur.
After having seen/visited Thiruvananthapuram drive to Chengannur by night and check in to a lodge
and night halt.
6 Divya Desam round trip from Chengannur and back is around 95 kms which can be seen in one day.
Route: From Chengannur railway station travel on MC road for about 900 meters until you
see a over head railway bridge.
Immediately after the railway bridge left turn straight road leads to the temple.
Route: From Chengannur railway station travel on MC road for about 5 kms up to
Pravumkood (Dove House).
At the dove house immediately left turn drive along the road will lead you to
Thiruvanvandoor.
Instead while travelling on MC road after Thirumoolapuram take a left turn to join

on National Highway #47 right turn to join pipe line road. On pipe line road drive
until you join Edappally Pukkattupady road.

Do not go to Muktinath during the raining season (June, July, August and the beginning of
September) because of the possibility of landslides. Due to bad weather also there is a great chance
planes do not fly from Pokhara to Jomson and back for days. Taking a helicopter can be the

hards as it is way too cold.
