Objectives

To validate the relationship between angular velocity and depth of paraboloid.

Equipment

>Hydraulic Bench

>Rotating vessel accessory

>Stop watch

Procedures

1.Set up the rotating vessel apparatus into the hydraulic bench.

2.Turn on the bench until the flow stabilizes.

3.Measure the depth of the vertex while counting the number of rotations per minute.

4.Adjust the gate valve gradually and repeat step 1 to 3 in order to record different heights androtations

Conclusion

The investigative experiment suggested that there is a significant

correlation between the height of the vortex and the rpm of rotating vessel.
With these, it also showed that both centripetal and centrifugal force, as well
as gravity and normal force were present; as well as, affects the behavior of
mass of liquid being tested causing it to have parabolic curve on the rotating
vessel which causes the height of vortex to increase or decrease depending on
the rpm of the said object

Recommendation

Before starting the experiment, make sure all wires are covered or far
from spill of water coming from the rotating vessel to avoid accidents, test all
switch if functional. Perhaps, doing more trial if possible for more accurate
result. Be careful on counting the rotation of fan blade, discrepancy in numbers
might change results.
