Zone, State and Region, new members may benefit

who could play the role of a mentor to the newly joined
members and understand CII much better.

Ms. Shobana Kamineni has been serving as Executive

Vice-Chairperson, AHEL, since July 2014 and has
directed the company’s diversification to make it
Asia’s foremost integrated healthcare organization.
Ms. Kamineni helms the Apollo Global Projects
Consultancy for the planning, design and execution of
new projects. She also heads Apollo Pharmacy, India’s
largest pharmacy chain serving 2,50,000 customers a
day. She continues to be a Whole Time Director on
the Board of Apollo Munich Health Insurance after
leading its collaboration with Munich Re.
Additionally, Ms Kamineni is Vice-Chairperson of the

KEI Group, a diversified business founded with her
husband. She is an Independent Director on the
Boards of Blue Star Limited and Hero MotoCorp, and
Advisor to CISCO India’s External Board.
Passionate about wellness, Ms. Kamineni championed

the NGO ‘Billion Hearts Beating’ for educating
Indians about heart-health. A member of the Advisory
Council of the National Cadet Corp (NCC), she has
received several prestigious national awards for
Entrepreneurship and Leadership.
As an active Member of the CII, Ms. Kamineni has

been elected President for 2017-18.

Rakesh serves as Chairman-Bharti AXA Life Insurance,

and Board Member of Bharti Airtel and is MD, Bharti
Realty Holdings.
He is a member of the Founders Circle -Brookings

India and ICRIER. He is currently on the Governing
Body of ICAR and a member of the National Food
Processing Development Council (NFPDC).
A passionate philanthropist, Rakesh is the Co-Chairman

of Bharti Foundation with leading initiatives such as
Satya Bharti Program (education), Satya Bharti Abhiyan

As a young 26-year old entrepreneur in 1985, Uday

Kotak started Kotak Capital Management Finance Ltd.
(which later became Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd). In
2003 Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. became the first
non-banking financial company (NBFC) in India’s
corporate history to be converted into a bank. Kotak
Mahindra Bank Ltd. (KMBL) is regarded as one of the
most efficient and high performing banks in India, built
on the principles of simplicity and prudence.
Uday’s ‘basics of banking’ approach has ensured
that the loan book is of high quality and the bank is
well-capitalised. In a journey spanning nearly three
decades, he has not only helped the company grow
to this scale but also earn respect.
Uday maintains a strong focus on community
development and inclusive growth, and feels strongly
that education is key to the alleviation of the social
malaise afflicting India’s under-privileged. In a bid
to address this issue, he has established the Kotak
Education Foundation that focuses on the educational
needs of underprivileged children.

SB in Mechanical Engineering, MIT Class of 1981
4th Generation member of the Kirloskar Group started in
1888. Kirloskar Group manufactures Pumps, Engines
and Compressors and other related products.
He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar
Systems Ltd. and Vice Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar
Motor.
He lives in Bangalore, Karnataka State and is
responsible for partnering the Toyota group and
starting a major automobile manufacturing industry
in the state. For this he has been recognized by
the Government and presented with the “Suvarna
Karnataka” award.
Vikram started working in the family business
after College, initially in Production Engineering.
He designed and developed many processes and
machine tools early in his career.
He was involved in opening the import licensing for
capital equipment while serving on the Government’s
Development Council for Machine Tools in the late
1980’s. He has also served as the President of
The Central Manufacturing Technology Institute in
Bangalore. He continues to serve on the National
Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry.
He also serves on the Govt. of India Development

Electric Mobility. Mr. Kirloskar is also Vice President,
Automotive Research Association of India and the
Past President of the Society of Indian Automobile
Manufacturers. He is also involved in many activities at

Kirloskar Systems Ltd. is a holding and investment
company owned by Vikram, is involved in Real Estate,
and is the partner in the joint ventures with Toyota.

T V Sundram Iyengar & Sons Private Limited and the
Managing Director for TVS Logistics Services Limited.
He is also the Director for various joint ventures
and subsidiaries of these companies. A Commerce
Graduate and an Associate Member of Institute of
Chartered Accountants of India and Institute of Cost
& Works Accountants of India, Mr. Dinesh has vast
experience within the Group and as is the tradition
in the family, worked his way up in the organization
ladder.
Mr Dinesh is the Chairman for, CII Institute of Logistics,
CII National Logistics Advisory Council, and Chairman,
Logistics Sector Skill Council. He has been elected as
the Deputy Chairman for CII Southern Region for the
year 2017-2018. He is also currently a member of CII,
National Council. During the year 2012 – 13 he was
the Chairman of CII Tamil Nadu State Council.
He won many awards including, ‘Entrepreneur of the
Year’ award for ‘Services’ category by Ernst & Young in
February 2017. He was also the recipient of TiECON’s
‘Next Gen Entrepreneur of the year 2014’ award and
‘Emerging Entrepreneur’ award by CII in 2010.

a turnover of around USD 2 Billion and employ more
than 21,000 people. Mr. Dinesh has been instrumental

campaign. The tagline of Cycle Pure Agarbathies --
'Everyone has a reason to pray' - resonates with the
brand. It left a mark that continues to reverberate. It
was an inventiveness of Mr. Arjun Ranga, Managing
Director of Cycle Pure Agarbathies.
Riding on the success of agarbathi manufacturers, NR
Group, the maker of Cycle Pure Agarbathies, has come
a long way to capture the essence of global fragrance
which has been instrumental to the success of the
group today. It is represented by its third generation
headed by Mr. Ranga, the Managing Director of the
group’s flagship brand Cycle Pure Agarbathies, the
largest manufacturer of agarbathies in the world.
Having had international exposure as a consultant
with CMR Inc, USA, a chemical market research
firm, he returned to join the family business in India.
Mr. Ranga holds an engineering degree from SJCE,
Mysore, and an MBA from Thunderbird School of
Global Management - International Business School,
USA, with specialization in marketing and strategy.
He managed a variety of assignments independently
before taking over the flagship brand Cycle Pure
Agarbathies in 2005.
As a business visionary, he has successfully diversified
the group into a conglomerate with its interests in

sectors ranging from agarbathies to aerospace. Since
taking over reins of the group some 15 years ago,
Mr. Arjun Ranga has taken Cycle Pure Agarbathies
to new heights and has added a range of specialty
products in the arena of home prayer.
Currently, Mr Arjun Ranga is also the Chairman
of CII Mysore and Vice President of the All India
Agarbathi Manufacturers Association. His enterprise
and boldness have helped Cycle Pure Agarbathies
achieve growth figures that are rarely seen in mature
FMCG categories. Mr. Ranga plays a hands-on role
in employee development and engagement and
believes people are at the core of an organization.
He is also responsible for engineering a major thrust
in NR Group’s export business which won them the
EPCH (Exports Promotion Council for Handicrafts)
2010-2011 Exports Gold Awards.
Mr. Ranga’s love for cricket has driven him to own a
leading KPL team Mysuru Warriors. A multi-faceted
personality, he has a passion for trekking and he
actively pursues photography, and counts golf and
tennis among his hobbies. Mr. Ranga has ventured
into the online space with ‘Soulveda’, a portal which
aims to encourage people to engage with their inner
spirituality, and spread happiness and well-being.
Apart from his professional and personal front, Mr.
Ranga’s work with underprivileged has gotten him
plaudits from across the country. With programs like
Prerepana, encouraging micro entrepreneurship in
rural segment to make agrabhaties and Ranga Rao
Memorial School for Disabled he has ensured growth

a member of the Executive Council and Academic
Council of Visvesvaraya Technological University in
Belgaum. In 2005, he received the Rotary Centennial
Award for Professional Excellence.
His expertise lies in strategic planning and institutional
development, Engineering Education Research and

Dr Shettar was program committee chairman for the
first ‘International Conference on Transformation in
Engineering Education’ (ICTIEE-2014).

Promoted Yuken India Limited (YIL) in collaboration
with Yuken Kogyo Company Ltd (YKC) and has
been its Managing Director from inception. YIL
has grown multifold and become one of the major
manufacturers of hydraulic components and systems
in the country.

a pioneer in the hand pump industry. He founded
the Meera Group of companies in 1967 though its
first company Central India Engineering Company
and initiated the export promotion of its products in
1977. Under his leadership the company embarked
on massive expansion and diversification programs
including construction of large Regional Rural Water
Supply projects of Rural Water Supply, Water Treatment
Plants and deflouridation plants. He heads Research
and Development Division of the Company and has

He has been the recipient of Udyog Patra Award

Rajanna has been part of Confederation of Indian
Industry (CII) state council for several years, and
has chaired the Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) forum and the Skill Development
Forum. He is a life member of the Computer Society
of India (CSI), Indian Society for Technical Education
(ISTE), Hyderabad Management Association (HMA),
