    THE ORIGIN OF JOSAKWA.........from another source......

    The origin of Josakwa is not clearly known; the people themselves claim descent from Ramogi.
    Their genealogy however show descent from Wanga. Their oral tradition also claim place of
    origin as Kawango. Prof. Ogot writes that Asembo, Uyoma and Sakwa were a miscellaneous
    groups that followed the migrating Luos into Nyanza. Raila claims that they come from Uganda
    as Luo but split into Kawango region.
    Josakwa's migration began in Wanga (Kawango) led Matar son of Wanga. From Wanga they
    settled in Buholo near Got Osimbo. Matar then moved his people across river Nzoia near
    Rangala and settle in Boro Alego. They then moved to Kanyaboli where they found and overan
    Owila and Kale (Uyoma and Asembo). From Kanyaboli leadership went to Sakwa (whose name
    the clan uses) son of Matar who led a big section of josakwa to Randago then later crossed river
    Yala at Abom into Sakwa. After Sakwa's death leadership wrangle erupted between his two sons
    Miyandhe and Nyibinya thus each migrated and spread all over Sakwa.
    Now Sakwa whose name josakwa takes had three children: Miyandhe (jokamiyandhe), Nyibinya
    (jokanyibinya) and a daughter called Nyamdimbie (jokanyamdimbie).
    Miyandhe fathered mayika and Ligoo (kaligoo). Mayika fathered Miyawa (kamiyawa) and Waye
    (wawaye). They occupy southern parts of Sakwa.......
    As jokamiyande migrated towards Uyoma peninsula from Abom and Uloma, they absorbed and
    hosted other people: Mbohra (waohra), Miha (wamiha), Rabuor/wambi (karabuor), Mawa
    (wamawa), Miseda (waseda), Gwe (wagwe), Chuje(kachuje), Migoma (wagoma) and Mkwaya
    (kamkwaya) This group under Miyandhe is referred to as Nyasmwa from 'mwa'.
    Nyibinya, the second son of sakwa married six wives whose names are used for the sub-clans:
    Oduol (koduol), Owak (kowak), kuodi (kakuodi), Ligaga (kaligaga), Olaka (kolaka) and Ganga.
    Miyandhe also incoporated several groups of people; Mayuje from Alego, Yue, Osinjo, Wagalu
    and Kodumo. The term Ojwando is normally uses to refer to these people. Nyibinya group
    occupy the western and northern sakwa. Other groups that found themselves in Sakwa include:
    Wahundga, Kagwa, Karachier, Kamgodha, kanyinek, Wamuri/kondoro, Seme, Waware/waraya
    and Ugenya.
    The last group of Sakwa is Jokanyamwanda (nyamwanda). Sakwa daughter Nyamdimbie after
    refusing to get married finally married a jamwa called Omwanda. Omwanda and Nyamdimbie
    begot nephews of josakwa: Yendhe (wayebdhe), Gusu (wagusu), Mchidha (wachidha) and
    Mnara (Kamnara). They occupy central and southern sections of sakwa.

    Karachuonyo – Auma

    The fourth wife of Rachuonyo was Auma. She came from Agoro Nyakach and was the daughter of
    Nyibana. She begot a son the only son called Okelo Oocho. Okelo Docho had three wives: Nyongo,
    daughter of Otlanga of Waweya,Koko daughter of Okelo of Kanyada. Kothldha and Abonyo from
    Kasgunga. Nyongo had only one son - Qngola and Koko had two sons:- Wadhgone and Oyugi. Oyugi
    had three wives Awuor, Muga and Tonde. At present we have three sub-clans of Auma:- Kanyongo,
    Kawadhgone and Koyugi.
