    “Persephone”
    Hi! I’m Persephone, Nice to meet you all now maybe some of you already
    know my story but for those who aren’t let me tell Now Im going to tell my story . I was the
    young daughter of Zeus and Demeter. Goddess of Spring Vegetation, especially Grain, but
    now is also the Queen of the Underworld, how did i become the Queen? Well, I was picking
    flowers one day on the plain of Enna. I pulled an especially beautiful narcissus, the earth
    split open, my life is peaceful and everything is going alright until, Hades, ruler of the dead,
    came out of a gap in the earth and thundered up in his golden chariot pulled by four black
    horses. He grabbed me and carried me down to the underworld against my will. When this
    happened only Zeus, Hermes, and the sun titan saw it . As Demeter, my mother, searched
    for me, her despair caused crops to die. Hermes told her what he had saw and my mother
    became furious. She would not let anything be fertile until I came back. My mother was
    selfish, She starved the whole world just because she could not find me. She destroyed
    everything and neglected all of her duties. Soon I realized that she have a little trust in me.
    She don’t trust me that I can take care of myself without her .She was haunted by the fact
    that my life will ruined if I live in the underworld. Zeus could no longer let this go on so he
    sent Hermes to fetch me. But then Hades, he made me eat those pomegranate seeds before I
    leave the Underworld and according to the laws when I ate something from the Underworld
    I am obligated to remain there for the rest of my life. My stay in the Underworld wasn’t that
    bad. Hades is a truthful and right man of all the Gods, he love me with all of his life and was
    taking care of me. As Queen and Goddess of the Underworld, I guided mortals who
    descended to the realm of the dead on a quest. When the musician Orpheus came looking
    for his dead wife, his song was so beautiful that I granted his wish and restored his wife's life.
    When Aphrodite sent Psyche to the underworld for cosmetics, I filled Aphrodite's box.
    When Heracles, also known as Hercules, descended to Hades for his twelfth labour and I
    also helped the hero bring Hades' three-headed dog Cerberus to show the king of Mycenae.
    I was called by the Romans Proserpina. I as the innocent maiden was “Kore” to distinguish
    myself as Queen of the Underworld See my life in the Underworld wasn’t that bad. Then
    my mother Demeter still is full of anger and madness. So when Zeus made me reunite with
    my mother I lied about I only ate 1/3 of the pomegranate seed so that I could spent 2/ with
    her so that she would not starve the people and bring back the light and the warmth and the
    earth rejoices in abundance and the for the other 1/3I spend it with my beloved husband
    Hades in the Underworld.
