Braker:
Between three-phase alternating-current supply and power input terminal(R,S,T),
breaker (MCCB) fit frequency converter power shoud be switched in. Capacity of short
circuiter should be between 1.5~2 times rated current of frequency converter. For
details, please refer to specification schedule of breaker, cable and contactor.
Electromagnetic contactor
In order to cut off input power of frequency converter effectively when systematic fault
occurs, you can install electromagnetic contactor to control the on and off of the main
circiut power at the intake side for safety.
Input AC reactor
In order to prevent the high voltage and heavy current of the electric network flowing into
the loop of the input power and thus damage the rectifier element, place in AC reactor at
the input side.

Cd2000 frequency converters whose weight are 18.5KW or more than 18.5KW need
external connection brake unit. For the energy fed back when releasing the running under
braking, brake unit must be connected at(+),(-)terminals and brake resistor must
be connected at P, PB terminals of the brake unit.
Wire length between(+),(-)terminals of the frequency converter and P, N terminals
of the brake unit should be less than three meters, while wiring length between brake unit
P, PB and brake resistor should be less than ten meters.
▲Attention: (+),(-)terminals are not allowed to connect with brake resistor directly,
or frequency converter may be damages and cause file.

To prevent electric shock and fire so as to ensure safety, the earth terminal PE of the
frequency converter must be gounded firmly. The earth wire should be thick and short, so
multi-strand copper core wire more than 3.5mm2 should be used. Don't use common
groundwire when multiple frequency converter are grounded so as t avoid earth wire
looping-in.
31
The operating principle of frequency converer decides it will cause some electromagnetic
interference noise. To ensure that all the electrical equipment in the same system can
work stably, this section will introduce EMC installation methods as a reference for field
installation from noise suppression, field wiring, earthing, drain current, power filter, etc.
Noise suppression
Shielded wire is used as connecting wire for all the control terminals of the frequency
converter, it earths the shielding layer to the nearest ground at the entrance of the
frequency converter. It is strictly prohibited to wring the shieding layer like pigtail before
connecting with frequency converter as it may reduce the shielding effect greatly or even
cause loss of shielding effect. Adopt shielded wire or separate wiring slot as connecting
wire (motor wire) for the frequency converter and motor, one end of motor wire's shielding
layer or wiring slot's metal shell connects with frequency converter closely, while another
end connects with the motor shell.
Field wiring
Electric power wiring : In different control system, power incoming line supplys power
independently from the power transformer, so generally 5-cored wire is adopted, of which
three fire wire, one zero wire and one earth wire, it is strictly prohibited to share one wire
as zero wire and earth wire.
Wiring in control cabinet : Usualy, there are signal wire (light current) and power line
(strong current) in the control cabinet. Signal wire can be interfered by power line easily
and causes eqipment mulfunction. So signal wire and power line must be distributed to
different regions, parallel and interlacing wiring is strictly prohibited when the distance
between them is less than 20cm, and it is not allowed to bundle these two toghther. When
the signal cable needs to crossing the power wire, there should be a 90° angle between
them. The incoming line and outgoing line of the power line also can not be crossed or
bundled together, especialy in palces where noise filter is installed, otherwise the
electromagnetic noise will cross the distributed capacitance of incoming and outgoing
lines anf form couping, which will make the noise filter lose function.
Earthing
The frequency converter must be earthed safely and firmly when it is working.
There are three kinds of earthing: special earth electrode earthing, common earth
electrode earthing, earth wire series earthing. Adopt special earth electrode earthing for
different control sytem, adopt common earth electrode earthing for different equipment in
same control system, adopt earth wire series earthing for different equipment in same
supply line.
Drain current
Drain current includes wire drain current and earth drain current, whose volume depends
on the distributed capacitance volume and the carrier frequency of frequency converter
when the system is distributed. Earth drain current refers to drain current flowing past the
public earth wire, which not only flows into the frequency converter system, but also flows
into other equipments through earth wire, and then causes mulfunction to residual current
circuit breaker, relay and other equipments. Wire drain current refers to drain current
flowing past the distributed capacitance among the cables at the inpt and output sides of
the frequency converter. The drain current volume relates to carrier frequency of the
frequency converter, length of the motor cable and sectional area of the cable, the higher
the carrier frequency, the longer the motor cable and the greater the cross-sectional area
is, the greater the drain current is.
Countermeasures : Reduce the carrier frequency, make the motor cable as short as
32
possible, install AC reactor at the output side of the frequency converter when the motor
wire is too long (more than 50m).
EMI filter
EMI filter plays a good role in electromagnetic decoupling, which makes the equipment
meet the requirements to conducted emission and conducted susceptibility in
electromagnetic compatibility standard and plays a part in radiated emission of the
system equipment, and it is recommended to install.
33

The usage of auxiliary frequency source shall be the same as main frequency source A
when it serves as independent frequency given channel.
When auxiliary frequency source serves as superposition given (i.e. frequency source
selection is A+B or switching from A to A+B),there are following special points:
1, When the auxiliary frequency source is digital given, predetermined frequency (F0.08)
has no function, adjust upwards or downwards on the basis of main given frequency by
∧ and ∨ key of the keyboard (or UP, DOWN of multifunction input terminal).
2, When auxiliary frequency source is analog AI1 or AI2 input given or pulse input given,
100% of input setting shall correspond to the range of auxiliary frequency source(Refer
to description of F0.04 and F0.05).If the up and down adjustments need to be done on
basis of main given frequency, please set the corresponding setting range of analog input
as -n%~+n% (Refer to F3.12 and F3.14, or F3.17 and F3.19,F3.22 and F3.24)
3, When the frequency source is pulse input given, it is similar to analog given.
Hint: Selection of auxiliary frequency source B can not be the same as set value of main

Relative value selection of auxiliary Factory default 0
F0.04
frequency source B
When frequency source selection is frequency superposition given (F0.06 set as 1 or 3),
it shall be used to determine the regulating range of auxiliary frequency source. F0.05 is
used to determine the object relative to the regulating range, its range shall be fixed value
if relative to maxImum frequency (F0.09), while its range shall change with the change
of main frequency source X if relative to main frequency source A.
frequency source B
Select frequency given channel via this parameter. Realize frequency given via composite
of main frequency source A and auxiliary frequency source Y.
When select 1, frequency source is "main frequency source A + auxiliary frequency
source B", function of frequency superposition given can be achieved.
When select 2, frequency sourve is switching of main frequency source A + auxiliary
frequency source B, you can switch via frequency source switching terminal of
multifunction input terminal
When select 3, frequency sourve is switching of main frequency source A and main
frequency source A + auxiliary frequency source B, you can switch via frequency source
switching terminal of multifunction input terminal
43
So as to achieve mutual switching among the frequency given modes: such as switching
between PID running and common running, switching between simple PLC and common
running, switching between pulse setting and analog setting, switching between analog
setting and common setting, etc.
44
Jog deceleration time refers to the time that needed for the transducer to decelerate from
maximum output frequency (F0.09) to 0Hz.
Frequency converter can not run at the frequency point within the hopping frequency
range, the actual running frequency will run at the boundary point of hopping frequnecy
if the set frequency is in the hoping frequency range, as shown in below figure:
This frequency converter can set one hopping frequency point, which will not work if the
hopping range is set as 0.

47
1: Start tracking upwards from zero frequency, it is used in the situation that the frequency
converter is powered off for a long time and then restarts.
2: Track downwards from the maximum frequency, it is usually used for power-generation
load.
F2.02 Starting frequency Default 0.00Hz
Setting range 0.00Hz~Upper limiting frequency(F0.10)
F2.03 Hold time of starting frequency Default 0.0s
Setting range 0.0s~60.0s
To ensure torque at startup, please set appropriate starting frequency. Moreover,
accelerate after keep the starting frequency for some time so that it would establish
magnetic flux when the motor starts up. The starting frequency value shall not be limited
by the minimum frequency(F0.11). The frequency given value (frequency source) is less
than starting frequency, the frequency converter can not be started and keeps in standby
mode.Hold time of starting frequency is inoperative during positive &negative switching.
Hold time is not included in the acceleration time, but contains
in operation time of simple PLC.
Example 1:
F0.02=0 Frequency source is digital setting
F0.08=5.00Hz Digital setting frequency is 5.00Hz
F2.02=10.00Hz Starting frequency is 10.00Hz
F2.03=2.0s Hold time of starting frequency is 2.0s
At this moment, frequency converter is in standby mode and its output frequency is 0Hz.
Example 2:
F0.02=0 Frequency source is digital setting
F0.08=20.00Hz Digital setting frequency is 20.00Hz
F2.02=10.00Hz Starting frequency is 10.00Hz
F2.03=2.0s Hold time of starting frequency is 2.0s
At this moment, frequency converter accelerates to 5Hz, lasts for 2s, then accelerates to
given frequency 10Hz.
Start DC braking is generally used to make the motor come to a full stop and then restart.
If the starting mode is direct start, the frequency converter will start DC braking according
to the set start DC braking current first, then operate after setting the start DC braking time
(F2.19). If DC braking time is set as 0, frequency converter will start directly without
passing DC braking.
The greater the DC braking current is, the greater the braking force will be.
Start DC braking current is the percentage relative to the rated currentof frequency
converter.
F2.05 Stop mode Default 0
Setting range 0 Decelerated stop
1 Coast to stop
48
0: Decelerated stop
After the stop command takes effect, the frequency converter shall reduce the output
frequency according to the deceleration mode and the defined acceleration and
deceleration time, and stop after the frequency is reduced to 0.
1: Coast to stop
After the stop command takes effect, the frequency converter shall stop the output
immediately. Load shall coast to stop according to mechanical inertia
F2.06 Run action with frequency lower
than minimum frequency Default 0
Setting range 0 Run with minimum frequency
1 Delay shutdown
Select the running mode of frequency converter when the set frequency is lower than the
minimum frequency.
0: Run with minimum frequency: If set frequency is lower than minimum frequency,
frequency converter will run with minimum frequency.
1: Stop: If set frequency is lower than minimum frequency in running process, frequency
converter will stop after passing the time set by F2.07. If set frequency is lower than
minimum frequency at start-up time, frequency converter will not be able to start up.
Choose stop to prevent the motor from running for long time with low speed.

effect of the brake unit.
F2.13 Setting length Default 1000m
Setting range 0m~65000m
F2.14 Number of pulses per meter Default 100.0
Setting range 0.1~999.9
F2.15 Length reaching action Default 0
Setting range 0: Continue to run 1: Stop
F2.16 Actual length Default 1000m
Setting range 0m~65000m
These three parameters :setting length, actual length and number of pulses per meter
are used for length control.
Length is calculated by the input pulse signal of input terminal X, and it is necessary to
set the corresponding input terminal as length count input terminal. Use X6 terminal to
input when the pulse frequency is high.
Actual length (F2.16) is used to store the length calculated value. Before length
calculating, you can modify the parameter value as the initial value of length calculation
so that the actual length increases based on this inital value, and the calculated actual
length value can be stored when the frequency converter is powered down.
Actual length = initial value of length calculation+ length count pulse number /number of
pulses per meter.
When the actual length (F2.16) is more than set length (F2.13), output the "
length reaching" signal by digital output terminal Y.
Set external input terminal as "length count reset" function to operate the length reset.
F2.17 Water supply and slep function Default 0

5.8 Group F7: PID function parameters
PID control is a common method used for process control, it regulates output frequency of
frequency converter and form reverse feedback system so as to stabilize the controlled
volume within the target volume by making proportional, integral and differential operation
to the feedback signal of controlled volume and the dispersion of target volume signal. It is
applicable to process control, such as flow control, voltage control, temperature control, etc.
Control basic functional block diagram is shown as in below figure:
(percentage)

Feedback quantity
The set target quantity of process PID is relative quantity, 100% setting is corresponding
to100% feedback signal of controlled system.
63
F7.05 Proportional gain P Default 10.0
Setting range 0.0~100.0
F7.06 Integral time I Default 2.00s
Setting range 00.00s~10.00s
F7.07 Derivative time D Default 0.000s
Setting range 0.00s~10.00s
Proportional gain P: it decides the regulative intensity of the whole PID regulator, the
greater P is, the greater the intensity is. If this parameter is 100, it indicates that the
regulation range of output frequency instructed by PID regulator is maximum frequency
(neglect integral action and derivative action) when the deviation of PID feedback quantity
and given quantity is 100%.
Integral time I: it decides the integral regulation speed of PID regulator to the deviation of
PID feedback quantity and given quantity. Integral time indicates that the regulation
quantity of integral regulator (neglect proportional action and derivative action) reaches
maximum frequency(F0.09)after continuously regulated during integral time when the
bias of PID feedback quantity and given quantity is 100%. The shorter the integral time is,
the greater the regulative intensity is.
Derivative time D: it decides the integral regulation intensity of PID regulator to the
deviation of PID feedback quantity and given quantity. Derivative time indicates that if the
feedback quantity changes 100% during this time, the regulative quantity of derivative
regulator will be maximum frequency (F0.09) (neglect proportional action and integral
action). The longer the derivative time is, the greater the regulative intensity is.
Set the maximum allowable deviation of system feedback value and given value, PID
stops regulating when PID feedback and given deviation is within the range. Deviation
limit is calculated according to the percentage of PID given source( or feedback source).
The suitable settings of this function contribute to to give attention to precision and
stability of system output. Deviation limit description is shown as in below figure:
Feedback Quantity
Output frequency
Time
Figure 5-13 Schematic diagram of deviation limit
64
5.8 Group F8: Communication function
Communication response delay indicates the interval between data acceptance end and
sending response data to hose computer. If response delay time is shorter than system
process time, response delay time will be subject to system process time; if response
delay time is longer than system process time, frequency converter needs to wait and
cannot send data to host computer until the response delay time is up.
When the function code is set as 0.0s, parameter will be invalid if communication is time out.
When function code is set as valid value, system will report communication fault/error
(E019) if the interval between one communication and another communication is more
than communication timeout. Usually, it is set as invalid value. It will be possible to
monitor the communication situation if subparameter is set in continuous communication system.
See AEI communication protocal for details.

Setting range 0.00Hz~Maximum output frequency(F0.09)
This parameter defines v/f setting mode so as to meed the demands of all kinds of load
characteristics.
0: SL v/f curve. It is fit for common permanent torque load.
1: Square v/f curve. It is fit for blower, water pump centrifugal loads.
2: Multipoint v/f curve. It is fit for spin-drier, centrifuge special loads. It can be set as
user-defined.
To improve v/f control low-frequency torque characteristic, make upgrading compensation
to output voltage of frequency converter when it is low frequency.
Torque upgrade: Set according to percentage of rated voltage input by frequency converter.
Its setting description is as below:
Attention!
1) Set according to motor name plate parameters.
2)To ensure the control performance, please deloy the
motor according to the standard adaptive motor of frequency
converter. If there are too many differences between motor
power and adaptive motor, the control performance of
frequency converter will reduce.
1) When torque upgrade is set as 0.0%, frequency converter is automatic torque upgrade.
2) The parameter can be increased properly for small motor, and it can be decreased for
big motor.
3) It the torque upgrade setting is toogreat, it will be easy for the motor to be overheat
and the frequency to be overcurrent.
Torque upgrade cutoff frequency : Torque upgrade is valid within the setting frequency,
while torque upgrade will be invalid if it is over the setting frequency, shown as in figure 5-14:
Output voltage
Output frequency
Setting this parameter can compensate the slippage caused by load generated in v/f
control and reduce the motor speed variable quantity changed with load changes, usually,
100% is corresponding to the rated slip of motor rated load
66
.
Adjust the slip parameters according to below principles: when the load is rated load and
slip compensation parameters are set as 100%, motor rotating speed of frequency
converter is almost close to the given speed.
67
running command must be removed so as to eliminate running protection state.
2: If the running command already exists when the frequency converter is fault reset, the
running command must be removed so as to eliminate running protection state.
This will prevent the motor from danger caused by automatic running in unwitting situations.
If it is set as 0 and the running command already exists when the frequency converter is
powered on,the frequency converter will start directly after the time set by FA.13 .
FA.01 Fault automatic reset times Default 0
Setting range 0~20
When the fault automatic reset function is selected for the frequency converter, the times
can be automatically reset is set. If this prameter value is surpassed, the frequency
converter will start fault protection.
Remarks:
1) Fault automatic reset is useless to external faults and running time reaching faults.
2) If hand reset fault, the former automatic reset times will be cleared.
FA.02 Fault relay operation selection during fault automatic reset Default 0
Setting range 0 No operation During automatic reset, choose whether the
fault relay outputs fault alarm signal
1 Operation
FA.03 Fault automatic reset interval Default 1.0s
Setting range 0.1s~600.0s Waiting time of frequency converter between
fault alarm and automatic reset fault

FA.07 Motor overload pre-alarm parameter Default 80%
Setting range 50%~100%
When the motor overload check reaches the parameter setting value, multifunction output
terminal DO or fault relay shall output motor overload pre-alarm signal. This parameter is
calculated according to the time percentage when the motor continues to run in some
overload point and does not report the overload faults.
FA.08 Over voltage stall gain Default 0
Setting range 0~100
FA.09 Over voltage stall protection voltage Default 130%
Setting range 120%~150%
Over voltage stall gain: It refers to the regulating capacity that frequency converter inhibits
the over voltage stall. The more the value is , the greater the capacity of inhibiting
overvoltage is. This value should be small for small inertia load, or the system dynamic
response shall become slower. While this value should be large for large inertia load, or
there will be overvoltage faults if the inhibitive effects are not good.
Over current stall protection current: Select voltage protection points for overvoltage stall
function. The frequency converter shall carry out over voltage stall protection function
when it is over this value.
Over current stall: When the output current of frequency converter reaches the set over
current stall protection current, frequency converter shall stops acceleration during the
acceleration running; reduce output frequency during constant speed running; stops
deceleration during deceleration running, the running frequency resumes to be normal till
the current is less than the over current stall protection current (FA.11). Details is shown
as in figure.
69
Over current stall protection current: Select the current protection points for over current
stall function.
The frequency converter shall carry out over current stall protection function when it is
over this parameter value. This value is the percentage corresponding to motor rated current.
Over current stall gain: It is used to adjust the capacity of frequency converter inhibiting
over current stall. The greater the parameter value is, the greater the capacity of inhibiting
over current is.

Chapter6 ModBus communication
protocal of CD2000
ModBus communication protocal of CD2000 adopts RLU mode of international standard
ModBus communication protocal to implement master-slave comunication and provide
RS485 communication interface. Users can achieve centralized control (set run command
and function code parameters, read operating mode and fault inforamtion of frequency
converter) via PC/PLC so as to adapt the special use requirements..
(3) Topological structure: single host system, at most 247 points (Need to add driver after
RS485), the rest 1~247 points are slave. Setting range of slave address is 1~247,0 is
broadcast communication address.Slave address in network must be unique
72
receiving equipment will regard it as the continuation of the former message, which will
result in error as the value in the last CRC domain can not be correct.

⑴ When read instruction command code is 03H,it is able to read from one to multi-character.
For example: The starting address 0001 of frequency converter whose slave address is 01
can read the values of two registors successively.

⑵ Reading instruction command code is 06H, only one word can be written every time.
For example: Write 234(00EAH)at address 0008H of frequency converter at slave address 01H.

CD2000 series adopt the error detection of CRC method. CRC domain detects the contents
of the message, two bytes, including 16-bit binary value, which is added into the message
after calculated by the transmision equipment. The receiving equipment recalculates the
CRC which received message and compares it with the received value in CRC domain, if
these two CRC values are unequal, it means that the transmission has errors.
Write CRC in 0xFFFF first, then call a process to handle the continuous 8-bit byte in the
information and the current value in the register. Only the 8Bit data in ever character is
valid to CRC,the start bit and stop bits and parity bit are all invalid
In CRC generation process, each 8-bit character alone will exclusive OR with the contents
of register (XOR), the results move to least significant bit and the most significant bit is
filled with 0.LSB is extracted for checking, if LSB is 1, the register alone exclusive OR
74
with the preset value, if LSB is 0, exclusive OR. The whole process shall repeat for 8 times.
After the last character (No. 8) completes, the next 8-bit byte shall exclusive OR with the
current value of register again. The final value of the register is the CRC value after all the
bytes in the inforamtion carried out the exclusive OR.
When add CRC to the information, add the low byte firsr, then add the high byte. CRC
simple function is as follows:
unsigned int crc_chk_value(unsigned char *data_value,unsigned char len
gth)
{
unsigned int crc_value=0xFFFF;
int i;
while(length--)
{
crc_value^=*data_value++;
for(i=0;i<8;i++)
{
if(crc_value&0x0001)
{
crc_value=(crc_value>>1)^0xa001;
}
else
{
crc_value=crc_value>>1;
}
}
}
return(crc_value);
}
Note : Parameters of both Group FD and Group FF neither can be read nor modified according
to the use features.
