INTRODUCTION
When you go out for shopping and feel hungry, what are your priorities? Shopping or eating? What if you get both things in the same place? A designer’s store
with café is a best way to save time for shopaholics. When you are too busy with shopping and don’t feel like going to some other place to fill your tummy, this is
a place where you can eat without going anywhere and save a lot of time. Shopping from your favorite brand and eating something in the café looked up by that
designer feels great. New eaters from Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli and other tastemakers reflect a hunger for a different kind of empire building.

AIM
The main aim of taking this topic as my thesis project is to make a unique eco friendly café and store of a designer in Jaipur, where you can shop and eat at the
same time.

OBJECTIVE
To make a sustainable designer store eminent. If someone comes only to shop, he sees the café and is aware of it. The main objective of designing this is to
promote the brand. If a person does not like the stuff selling in the store but loves the food served in the café. So he/she will come frequently to the café with
friends or family, they the person might like to see the new stuff and maybe purchase it. Because of this the sales increases of the owner/designer.

SITE
I choose “Manupasna” as my site as it is located in a posh locality i.e. c-scheme. As I am designing a boutique and café together of a famous designer, it will
mostly cater higher class. So making this store in a posh locality suits the status of the designer and his/her boutique as well. If suppose I open a store in Raja Park
where all type of people come, do you think any customer would like to come in his/her Mercedes to Raja Park to get a Rs50,000 top? There would be not even a
parking space for a Mercedes as the area is congested. No one will ever come to that place as the place would not match his/her status. And therefore the store
won’t work there in such a locality.

I will be designing a boutique with café of an eco-friendly designer. The boutique will sell only women wear and accessories. My brand for which I
would like to design is “Bhusatva”. It’s an organic ecofriendly boutique. They use sustainable materials for the garments. The out of the box idea in my
design is the connecting ribbon which connects the boutique and café. The connecting ribbon is shown through the flooring in my design as well as the
area acts as a ramp for the models to move around the boutique and showoff what they wearing.

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS

 Design of an interior of a space


 Built up area between 15,000-20,000 sqft
 It should be non-residential in nature
 The drawings of the shell of the building should be available

BHU:SATTVA
Environmentally friendly fashion as a phrase conjures up two contrasting kinds of images.
1. One of unaffordable clothing that can only be seen on the ramp or confined to the cupboards that house silver line crockery.
2. The other is pictures of rough coarse fabric, decided austerity, dowdy colors and clothes that fir poorly.

“Bhu:Sattva” is an organic fashion house based out of Ahmadabad, attempts to break both the stereotypes: through fine clothing that comes straight from years of
work with cotton farmers and the ecosystem in Ahmadabad.
Reports finding several hazardous chemicals in adults and children’s clothing and footwear across a number of major clothing brands or the reputation of the
textile industry known for dumping effluents or its poor treatment of workers is not new. But bhusattva is striving to achieve is an alternative for the Indian
consumer. Bhusattva implements sustainability in the production of its apparel across the value chain. It professes to starting green rather than following a certain
trend. It uses only organic vegetable and natural dyes from the red of beets and pomegranate to the yellowish brown of kesu flower and catechu. Bhusattva also
uses materials that break free of the conventional notion that all organic is equal to cotton. The company has even produced apparel from materials like bamboo,
soya bean, milk protein etc.
The organic fashion house works with farmers across the country who produce certified organic cotton on one hand and design institutions like NIFT and NID on
the other, to fashion aesthetic and contemporary designs for its fashion line.

DESIGN STRATEGY
Luxury boutique with café

It’s hard not to love a spot that combines our two favorite pastimes – eating and shopping. When you go out for shopping and feel hungry, what do you
prioritize? Shopping or eating? What if you get both the things in the same place? A designers store with a café is a best way to save time for shopaholics.
Shopping from your favorite brand and eating something in the café looked up by the designer feels great. Discover your favorite place to eat and shop or
shop then eat, weather you are looking for fashionable finds, perfect cocktail, followed by a desert.

The aim is to design an eco friendly luxury fashion boutique with café followed by a small workspace area for Bhu:Sattva. Bhu:Sattva is a brand which has
“started green” instead of “going green”. It’s an organic fashion house in Ahmadabad. Jainam Kumarpal, ecopreneur and founder of Bhu:Sattva launched in
2009.

The main objective is to create a boutique café with workspace area as per the requirement of the designer and also as per green interiors and make it
environmentally safe.

“The connecting ribbon” is the concept behind the whole design. A ribbon which acts like a connection between the boutique and café. The connection
between them is shown through concrete flooring which acts like a ramp as well for the customers

When a person goes to a luxury fashion boutique, he/she thinks twice or thrice, takes others suggestion and then buy any garment which is more than
50,000/- The person tries different garment several times and gets confused. To resolve the problem, I have designed a fashion ramp and stage inside the
store, where you sit back, have a cup of coffee and meanwhile the model will come wearing your selected garment on stage. She can even do ramp walk, so
that you are fully satisfied with the piece you are buying. This also gives a sense of luxury as the customer does not need to put in efforts and try out the
garments. This idea has never been seen in any of the boutiques in India till date.

The stage which is designed centrally in the store can be a multi-functional space. It is used for showcasing garments to the customers. And fashion shows
can also happen here. Like when the designer launches his/her new collection, they can display their garments by a fashion show in their boutique itself. And
as the stage is centrally located, it is visible to the people who are sitting in the café. If they want, they can enter the boutique to watch the show.
