Assignment I Topic: Analysis of Research Papers Supply Chain Management
This research is Qualitative in nature they conduct surveys with conceptual approaches on supply
chain management nature of supply chain relationships and collaboration, issues such as personal
relationships among supply chain members and inter- and intra-organizational coordination.
Research paper also use case studies, Demand Management and Forecasting and Risk
Management research are dominated by Case Study research.
In conclusion the paper examined the growth rates of the topics and categorized them into groups
of reasonably similar growth rates to help discuss their future impacts.
The growing topics for theory-based research are Relationships and Collaboration, Supply Chain
Integration, Strategy, Quality, Risk Management, Inventory and Customer Service Strategy.
The relatively flat topics are Network Analysis, Humanitarian Operations, Information
Technology, Transportation and Logistics, Manufacturing and Contracts and Coordination.

The topic of the research is explanatory and it provide explanation on the service supply chain
link, that primarily focuses on service supply and service co-ordination management, and less on
service demand and integration management. In terms of the behavioral factor’s perspective,
most focus on classic behavior factors, with less attention paid to emerging behavior factors.
The research is quantitative of nature because it asked two questions that are:
RQ1. Consider the heterogeneity and customer engagement of service supply chain, will
customers show different fairness concerns due to the service quality?
RQ2. In the context of information, is there any new technology that can help solve the
impact of fairness concern?
This study identifies threes significant features of SSCM from the perspective of behavioral
operations: namely, the abundance research issues, extensive research backgrounds and multiple
methods and greater attention to the combination of academic research and practice. This study
has also identified three challenges: many characteristics of service are difficult to quantify in
modifying the analytical model; service is not standardized and there are significant industrial
differences; and systematic, comprehensive and multidisciplinary research are urgently needed.
In a conclusion this study finds that different behavior factors receive varying degrees of
attention, with strategic behaviors receiving the most attention and forecast bias receiving the
least. In addition, existing research has tended to focus more on service supply management and
co-ordination management and less on service demand and integration management.
