BANDUNG
Bandung is the capital of West Java province in Indonesia. Bandung has cooler temperatures
year-round than most other Indonesian cities. The city lies on a river basin surrounded by
volcanic mountains. It's known for colonial and art deco architecture, a lively, university-town
feel and relatively cool tropical weather. Bandung is also a shopping destination.
Culture
Bandung is considered a major & significant cultural hub in Indonesia. Most people in the
surrounding province of West Java are Sundanese. Sundanese language is often spoken as the
first language and is commonly used as informal language for communication in streets, school,
campus, work and markets, while Indonesian is used as the official language and the language of
government, businesses, and instruction at schools.
Science & Education
Many people call Bandung as "The City Of Education". Since the colonial era, the city of
Bandung is the target of the student from different parts of the country to continue his education
in Bandung.There are hundreds of public and private schools and universities popular in
Bandung.
Observatories
In the north of Bandung, Bosscha Observatory is the only observatory in Indonesia. Construction
of the observatory began in 1923 and was completed in 1928. In 1922, the first international
publication from Bosscha Observatory was published and in 1959, the observatory was absorbed
as a part of the Department of Astronomy at Institut Teknologi Bandung (The Bandung Institute
of Technology).
Tourism
Bandung is a popular weekend destination for residents of Jakarta. The cooler climate of the
highland plantation area, the varieties of food, the cheaper fashion shops located in factory
outlets and distros, golf courses, and the zoo, are some of the attractions of the city. Bandung is
also a popular shopping and food destination due to cheap textile and fashion products,
especially for Malaysian and Singaporean tourists.
1. The Gorgeous View

a. Hang in the sky like Spiderman – Tebing Gunung Hawu
For sunrise enthusiasts, Tebing Gunung Hawu boasts a fantastic viewpoint to watch
the sun wake up for its morning duties. Better yet, you can catch that sunrise from
your perch in a hammock, hanging precariously between two towering cliffsides.
b. The Ultimate Adventure With Nature – The Lodge Maribaya, Bandung
The lodge’s natural surroundings include pine forests, Maribaya waterfalls, and a
vista of wonderful mountain scenery.
c. The Mystical lake above the Clouds: Kawah Putih
Its crystal blue waters changes with the weather conditions, and is lined with fine
white sand, giving visitors an otherworldly experience. Even the vegetation around
the area is quite different to those below.
d. Waterfalls and hot springs: Taman Wisata Maribaya
Getting to the Maribaya waterfall is a joy itself; walking through the forest treks
while breathing in the fresh mountain air is a great way to rejuvenate the body and
mind.
e. Take a Boat Ride or Cross the Love Bridge at Situ Cileunca
This is where you can take a boat ride around the lake and marvel at the beauty of the
landscape or you can take a stroll along a bridge across the lake, which connects two
villages together.
f. Enjoy The Night View of Bandung: Caringin Tilu Highland
When night falls, the Caringin Tilu offers romance sparkling night in Bandung.
Thousands of lights from buildings in Bandung like the stars that adorn the sky.
g. Sleep Under The Stars
If you feel like spending a night here, camping equipment is also available for rent at
the nearby shops or you can feed the deer in the morning.
2. The Fashion Shop
a. Shop and dine outdoors at Cihampelas Walk
Hunt the many local and international retailers available, from Pierre Cardin to Metro.
b. Cheap Price in Riau Street
Along the riau street you can find cheap items
3. The Delicious Food

You can find anything delicious food in Bandung one of them is nasi tutug oncom, mie
kocok, cireng, batagor, bajigur, bandrek and cendol.
Bajigur is traditional hot drink made from coconut milk, spices, pandan leaf, and coconut
sugar. Bandrek is traditional hot drink made from ginger, spices, and coconut sugar.
Cendol is traditional cold drink made from coconut sugar, coconut milk, and green
glutinous rice jelly
4. Family Time
a. The Hobbit house in Bandung! – The Farm House
The Farm House is a suitable place for the whole family. Children can have fun
running amok in the big garden areas, while parents enjoy the fresh cool mountain air
and great views while taking photos.
b. Floating Market
Enjoy a wide selection of traditional Indonesian food served from small boats with a
beautiful view of a lake.
c. Where nature meets modern comforts: Dusun Bambu Leisure Park
Covering 15 hectares of land, children and teens can roam freely in the beautifully
manicured gardens and playgrounds or take part in the many activities ranging from
pottery, mini golf, a hot air balloon, and even a shooting range.
d. Go Behind the Scenes of a Traditional Orchestra: Saung Angklung Udjo
You can attend Angklung-making classes and watch how it goes together with a
traditional dance and puppet show performance.
e. Release your Inner Cowboy: De’Ranch, Lembang
Guests are given cowboy costumes and a horse ride (with a professional at bay, of
course) to roam the 5 hectares of greenery.
Preface
First of all, thanks to Allah SWT because of the help of Allah, writer finished writing the paper
entitled “Bandung”. The writer also wish to express his deep and sincere gratitude for those who
have guided in completing this paper.
The purpose in writing this paper is to fulfill the assignment that given by Mr. Dadang as
lecturer. This English paper contains about Bandung, science and culture, education and some
tourist destinations in Bandung.
In arranging this paper, the writer trully get lots challenges and obstructions but with help of
many indiviuals, those obstructions could passed. writer also realized there are still many
mistakes in process of writing this paper.
Because of that, the writer says thank you to all individuals who helps in the process of writing
this paper. hopefully allah replies all helps and bless you all.the writer realized tha this paper still
imperfect in arrangment and the content. then the writer hope the criticism from the readers can
help the writer in perfecting the next paper.last but not the least Hopefully, this paper can helps
