II. INTRODUCTION

EX Beach Resort is a service-type of business that aims to be one of the main

tourist destinations here in the Philippines. Also, it aims to exhibit the natural resources
of Masbate especially the coral reefs, white sand and crystal-like water.

Since it is not applicable for the business to operate in the school, the
proponents decided to serve some signature dishes that the resort will be serving. The
proposed business aims to let the chosen target market have a glimpse of the said
beach resort and how it looks like, also, to serve some of the signature dishes that will
let them taste the food of Masbate where seafood is really abundant.

III. MARKET PLAN

1. THE MARKET
A. Identify your customer profile

The target market of EX Beach Resort will be the teachers, staffs and the
students in St. Agnes Academy. The business will be offering student meals which
consist of seafood that the resort will offer. Aside from the dishes, the proponents will be
selling one of the famous delicacies in Masbate which is the Carmelado.

B. Determine the size of the total market

Both the students and the faculty of the St. Agnes Academy are the potential
customers of the said business. The total size of the market is not only exclusive in St.
Agnes Academy but the population of Legazpi City, Albay.
C. Assess the competition

The business’ nearest competitors are vendors inside the school including the
canteen and the other businesses which will be part of the business simulation. The
operation includes customer services, preparation of foods, and the cost of foods. Our
business is the only one that offers affordable seafood dishes which is why we can say
that we have a stable market.

D. Estimate your sales

The estimated sale per month is ₱270,000. Thus, the projected sales for January to
March, 2019 is ₱810,000.
2. THE INDUSTRY

The business will be a part of the service industry in the Philippines and the
beach resort will be located at Tinigban, Aroroy, Masbate. This industry is famous here
in the Philippines since Filipinos love to travel and have a vacation at a beach. They
usually go and celebrate occasions at a beach resort so this will be a big opportunity for
the proponents to establish this business.

Since beach resorts are already known here in the Philippines, people tend to
seek for a new and interesting beach that would capture their interests to try it. The
proponents decided to fill that demand for innovation of beach resorts that is why they
incorporated the structure of the beach resorts in Maldives wherein the cottages are built
in the water, also, the proponents will be the one who will bring the customers into the
beach. However, there are still many beach resorts out there that they would also
consider as an option, so they would serve as our competitors and they will have an
impact on the business venture.

3. MARKETING STRATEGY
The business will be serving some of the signature dishes that the resort will offer
which consists mainly of seafood. By serving seafood dishes we will not only promote
our Beach Resort but also the culture of the Masbate Province. The market of the
business consists mainly of the students so the business puts up its prices according to
the students budget which makes it affordable for them to buy.

The promotional scheme that the business will take is the free Carmelado pack
for the first 10 buyers of the student meals. Also, the the business will be giving out fliers
to let the customers know our products and the services of the business.

IV. PRODUCTION PLAN

a) Product Specification

The original proposed project of the proponents was a beach resort. However,
since they are not able to make it possible inside the school, they decided to bring the
beach resort to the market by serving some of the signature dish of the beach and one
of the Masbate’s delicacies.
The proponents decided to serve Temares, which is a combination of shrimp and
squid dish together with Carmelado, which is one of the Masbate’s delicacies. They aim
to promote the culture of the Masbateños, as well as, the food of Masbate which will be
a big help for the province of Masbate to be known and be acknowledged by the people.

b) Production Process

These are the step-by-step procedure of Temares. For the shrimp and squid: first
step, prepare the shrimp and wash it thoroughly. Second, after washing the shrimp, remove
its heand and peel off its skin but remain the tail. Third, slice the back part of the shrimp and
remove the dirt in its tail. Fourth, gather it all in a bowl, put some seasoning and crispy fry
and mix it well. Fifth, break 3 eggs in a separate bowl and beat them for atleast a minute.
Sixth, dip the shrimp in the bowl of egg, then into the bread crumbs. Seventh, put a pan in
the stove and heat it for atleast 5 minutes, when already heated, pour a half liter of oil into
the pan and heat it for atleast 10 minutes. When already heated, put some shrimp into the
pan and let it cook until it is golden brown. Lastly, remove the shrimp from the pan when it
is already cooked and serve it with rice.

VII. Socio-Economic Plan

SPECIFIC CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PHILIPPINE ECONOMIC OR SOCIETY

The study of the proposed business will serve as a contributing factor to the
economy and society. It will provide a beneficial effect to the economic growth by
helping the state in creating job opportunities for the locals and promoting the prominent
tourist destination in Masbate which is the beach. A place that will serve as a perfect
island getaway for tourists must have a tranquil scenery and a natural touch of nature.
This is to give a person a peaceful state of mind, a relaxation and enjoyment. Giving
oneself a break from the stressful activities is important to loosen up one's body and
mind and to enjoy, this is a way of the business in providing a good service and
promoting exultance.

In EX Beach Resort we promote the value of stewardship; we protect and care

for the beauty and goodness of the environment. We will use eco-friendly materials for
our resort and that proper segregation of garbage will be observed. We are offering our
service with great hospitality for our customers to be able to provide good care and
services that they will need. We are to respect the needs of the people and especially
the beauty of God's creation because we are united in this community not as mere
individuals but as stewards of God.
CONTRIBUTION TO GOVERNMENT REVENUES

Taxes are the essential component of every administration that has subsisted
since antediluvian time, and it is expected that it will still be existing in the near future.
Giving the right amount payment for business taxes (be it in high or low quantity) is a
responsibility that every entrepreneur must provide if they wish their affair to flourish
without worrying about their enterprise being closed by the BIR because of
shortcomings.

The proposed business may accumulate as much money as large businesses or

big companies and it might be a component to contribute to the strength of the local
economy. Business may earn poorly except that it can also proliferate its profit through
strategic ways and can even compete with the multinational businesses within the
market economy. The business can dispense for the social needs of people when it
comes to employment which leads to different types of opportunity for both amateur and
professional workers, helps in the efficiency of operating the resources and supplies to
make a greater value of profit and it brings social benefits particularly, tax to the
government’s financial capacity.

Therefore, the existence of “EX Beach Resort” will add to the further revenue of
the local government through paying of taxes. During the pre-operating period, the
business undergoes a number of procedures beforehand the operation.

The business has to pay fair market value to secure the following requirements,
Barangay Certification, Mayor’s permit (DTI) Certification of registration, the BIR
registration etc. When the business is fully functional it will be paying sufficiently for the
annual income tax to the BIR.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE GROWTH OF RELATED INDUSTRIES

Instituting this business will present an increased sale of related industries

through purchasing resources that are required for the production, the acquisition of
equipment, the tools and utensils, the housecleaning supplies and the furniture that will
be used for the regular operation of the resort.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE PHILIPPINE HOUSEHOLD

The proposed business is aiming to serve the people with not just an ordinary
experience, but also an excellent getaway for the people through serving diverse food
cuisines, various outdoor activities, and the best way of relaxing. It will be a best place
not only for spending vacations, but also for celebrating different events with their
families, friends, and colleagues that will ensure them that they will be at peace and
focus on their respective activities.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE PHILIPPINE WORK FORCE

The proposed business will give many job opportunities to many Filipino workers
knowing that employment has been one of the social problems in the Philippines.
Therefore, the business will hire many construction workers, laborers, and staffs to help
in mitigating its effect to the society. The operations of the business will need man power
to do its duties. When the business flourishes it will expand and will need a greater
number of workers at the same time creating possible opportunities that will invigorate
the economy to induce efficient services for the people’s demand and satisfaction.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF THE

ENVIRONMENT
The business aims not just to earn profits but also to serve as an eco-friendly
resort for most of the furniture that will be used are made of recyclable materials which is
very helpful in preserving and protecting the surroundings of the resort, in that way there
can be a use for the recyclable trashes. This will serve people a nicer place for
refreshments and experience a good quality of service. The business will be practicing a
natural way of disposing waste, segregated trash barrels for biodegradable and non-
