Factory Radio Removal


1. Before proceeding, eject disc(s) from factory
unit if present. FIGURE 2 FIGURE 3

2. Set parking brake and disconnect negative


battery cable to prevent any electrical short.

3. Using an index card to protect finish, pry off


receiver trimpanel to release twelve (12) clips Receiver Trimpanel
and remove trimpanel (Figures 1-3).

4. Remove four (4) 7mm screws securing


receiver/climate control panel. Pry out panel
to release five (5) clips. Disconnect wiring
harnesses and remove panel (Figures 4-6).

5. Disconnect wiring harnesses from tuner
module. Push up release tab and remove
module (Figure 7).

OEM Integration
This page addresses integrating aftermarket accessories such as CD Changers, Auxiliary Input Adaptors, iPod Adaptors, etc.,
R

with a factory radio system.

Before proceeding, check the manual of the OEM integration device. The device may connect at another location, making radio
removal unnecessary. If the device connects at the rear of the radio, continue with the following steps.

1. Remove factory radio following instructions on the previous page.

2. Follow instructions supplied with the accessory device.

3. Connect optional adaptor to input as shown.

4. Test operation of the adaptor and reassemble dash by reversing removal steps.

Receiver Installation adaptor plugs into the vehicle receiver harness.

A Standard DIN unit is shown. A Double-DIN


receiver may also be installed following these
same steps and will require modifications in the

1. Secure receiver to mounting bracket following Cut this “node” off completely

Be aware of things such as wiring, windows, fuel lines and safety devices. Check

! IMPORTANT
No speaker wiring adaptor is available at this time from
Crutchfield for this speaker location. It will be necessary to Driver’s Side Pillar Trimpanel
splice wires in order to install an aftermarket speaker.

No speaker adaptor bracket is available at this time for this


location. A mounting bracket must be fabricated in order to
install an aftermarket speaker.

1. Starting at the top edge, pry out driver’s


side pillar trimpanel to release one (1) clip.
Push down retainer strap to release, then
pull up trimpanel to remove (Figures 1 & 2).

2. Pry open two (2) screw covers on

remove one (1) 10mm screw from each
location. Pry out trimpanel to release one (1)
clip. Pull up trimpanel to remove

3. Remove one (1) 7mm screw from each

trimpanels (Figure 5).

4. Pry up top dash panel to release fourteen


(14) clips. Twist sensor assembly to release
from panel and remove panel (Figures 6 & 7).

5. Remove two (2) 7mm screws securing

speaker. Pull out speaker, disconnect and
remove (Figure 8).

6. Fabricate a speaker mounting bracket and


secure speaker to bracket.

7. Make wiring connections following


instructions on page 13. Return to this
page to complete installation.

8. Secure speaker/bracket assembly to location

Screw Cover
1. Pry out screw cover behind door release
and remove one (1) 7mm screw (Figure 1).

2. Starting at the rear edge, pry up power


options switch panel to release clips.
Disconnect wiring harnesses and remove
panel (Figure 2). FIGURE 2

3. Pry out door panel trim strip to release clips


and remove (Figure 3).

4. Remove two (2) 7mm screws exposed by


removal of door panel trim strip (Figure 4).

5. Remove two (2) 7mm screws along bottom
edge of door panel (Figure 5).

6. Pry out sides and bottom of door panel
to release nine (9) clips. Disconnect FIGURE 6
door release cable and wiring harness.
Remove panel (Figures 6 & 7).

7. Remove one (1) 7mm screw securing


top of speaker. Pry out top of speaker

and disconnect harness. Lift speaker
to remove (Figure 8).

8. Secure new speaker to adaptor
bracket.

9. Make wiring connections following FIGURE 9
instructions on page 13. Return to this
page to complete installation.

10. Secure speaker/bracket assembly to Weatherstrip


location.

11. Test speaker operation.

12. Slide weatherstrip off door panel FIGURE 11


(Figure 9).

13. Pry out five (5) clips along top edge of


door panel and place into slots in top
of door (Figures 10 & 11).

14. Fit weatherstrip into window track.


Reinstall door panel by reversing
! SAFETY CHECK

Test door lock and release operation.

5. Pry out sides and bottom of door panel
to release eight (8) clips. Disconnect FIGURE 5
door release cable and wiring harness.
Remove panel (Figures 5 & 6).

6. Remove one (1) 7mm screw securing


top of speaker. Pry out top of speaker
and disconnect harness. Lift speaker
to remove (Figure 7).

7. Secure new speaker to adaptor Door Release Cable

8. Make wiring connections following FIGURE 6


instructions on page 13. Return to this
page to complete installation.

9. Secure speaker/bracket assembly to

10. Test speaker operation.

11. For ease of door panel reinstallation,


follow steps 12-14 for the front door on

1. Pry out screw cover inside door pull cup and Door Pull Cup
remove two (2) exposed 7mm screws (Figure 1).

2. Remove one (1) Torx T30 screw from seat belt
anchor. Open anchor cover and disconnect seat
belt (Figures 2 & 3).

3. Remove one (1) 7mm screw from bottom edge of
door panel (Figure 4).

4. Pry all edges of door panel to release twenty (20)
clips and remove door panel (Figure 5).

5. Remove one (1) 7mm screw securing speaker. Pry


out top of speaker to release clip. Disconnect
wiring harness and remove speaker (Figure 6). FIGURE 4

6. Secure new speaker to adaptor bracket.

Wire Splicing Guide These methods can be used to make wiring connections if no receiver or speaker wiring adaptor is available.

Factory harness is removed. Save New speaker wires are spliced into
