Example Report - Advanced Oil Analysis PDF

This lab report analyzes a sample of generic oil from a customer's misc. equipment. Particle counting found contamination levels of ISO 17/16/14. Tests measured water content at 124.5 PPM, viscosity of 102.7 mm2/s at 40C and 12.0 mm2/s at 100C, and a viscosity index of 107. Microscopic analysis identified silicate residue, black contamination, fibers and metal particles. Elemental analysis found increasing levels of iron and lead over time, indicating wear of components, while additives like magnesium and zinc had depleted.

History of Comments
Iron, Lead and Copper are present in low concentrations, indicates
07/08/2014 general wear and tear of components. Magnesium, Zinc and Phosphorus
appear to be the result of additives.
Increase in Iron and Lead identified, suggests an increase wear of
16/01/2015 components over time. Magnesium, Zinc and Phosphorus values have
decreased as additives have depleted with usage.
