Water Conservation

Water is the most valuable resource on the Earth and the essential component
of the ecosystem because all living beings need it to support their living process. The development
of modern industry, agriculture, and technology leads to the world catastrophe, which results in the
pollution of water resources as well as their increased consumption. The goals to preserve water
resources are determined by the range of necessities. First of all, it is an obligation of the humanity
to save water resources for the future generations. Besides, it helps to reduce the level of used
energy because water management consumes a huge amount of electricity. Finally, water is a habitat
for the different wildlife representatives. Therefore, the world community tries to prevent water
resources from their complete disappearing.
The first step to protect water is for people to become more economical. If they control how they

use water at least while washing dishes or brushing their teeth, they can save huge amounts of
water. There are different water-saving technologies, such as low-flow shower heads and toilets,
raw water flushing, automatic faucet, and many other smart devices, which were invented
specifically for saving water. Universal metering is considered to be a useful way to reduce the
amount of water wasting because it raises people’s understanding and responsibility. Besides, it
helps to detect water leakage. In order to reduce the usage of water in agriculture, a pan evaporation
is used. The useful feature of this device is thatesources impossible for people to consume, and
fishes and plants to live in. To prevent pollution, large plants and factories have to control their

emissions and assume measures to provide them with the appropriate equipment, which helps to
reduce tmissions.
Consequently, the problem of water pollution and conservation takes a significant place among
other environmental issues due to its severity and negative consequences for the mankind and
planet in general. There are different ways to prevent water pollution and preserve it by means of
wise using of water resources as well as the invention of special technologies. Water conservation
is an important mission for the global community to deal with to keep the planet safe for living.
As individuals, we have a huge role to play in water conservation.
We can practice the following measures daily:
1. We need to cut shower baths and tub baths. One can go for buckets instead.
2. Washing machines and dishwashers should be loaded fully before using them.
3. We should minimize the use of electricity as much as possible as the power plants
consume tons of water.
4. We need to plant more trees, and our gardens need huge trees too apart from the
flowering shrubs and ornamental plants.
5. We should water plants early in the morning and in the evenings. In these timings, less
water is lost due to evaporation.
6. To prevent evaporation, we can also cover the soil around trees with mulch.
7. It is said that the Indian toilet system requires less water than the flush systems. So, we
should insist on it while building new houses.
8. Rainwater harvesting has to become compulsory. We need not wait for a government
order and adopt it as early as possible for the general welfare of the society.
9. Water that is used for washing vegetables and dry food items need not go to the drain. We
can water the plants with them.
10. For cleaning purposes, we need not use hose pipes. Rather we can clear the dust first and
then wipe with cloth or mop.
11. We must turn off the pipes while brushing the teeth and while washing face and utensils.
Water is a precious gift for our life on earth by God, according to the availability of water on
earth, we can understand the importance of water in our lives. Everything on the earth and all
life forms needs water, such as humans, animals, trees, insects and other animals. The balance
of water on the earth is through some processes such as rainfall and evaporation. Three-fourths
of the Earth's water is surrounded by water, whereas very few percent of water is available for
human use. Therefore, there is a problem with the lack of clean water which can end life.
To maintain the existence of life on Earth, the protection of water is very important because life
without water is not feasible. As an exception in the entire universe, water helps in continuing
the life cycle on earth because the earth is the only planet where water and life exist. Water is our
life, so only we are responsible for saving it.
According to the survey of National Crime Records Bureau, it has been recorded that about
16,632 farmers (2,369 women) have lost their lives due to suicide, although 14.4% due to drought
is the reason that we can say that India And in other developing countries there is also lack of
water due to illiteracy, suicides, fighting and other social issues. In such areas of water scarcity,
children of future generations can not get the right to live with their basic education and live
happily.
Being a responsible citizen of India, we must be aware of all the problems of water scarcity so
that we can fulfill all the promises and go ahead for water conservation. It is right to say that
small efforts of all people can give a bigger result, such as drop-down, a pond, river and ocean
can become us, we do not have to make extra efforts for water conservation, we have our daily
There is a need to make some positive changes in the activities like after each use, after using the
bucket for washing or bathing instead of faucet, fountain or pipe, and use mugs. A small effort of
millions of people can give a big positive result towards the water conservation campaign.
