The infectious outbreak of Ebola

Many lives are lost every year due to virus-related diseases and illnesses. Ebola is a recent
epidemic that is easily spread and contacted. It has reached the major outbreak of its kind in history.
This disease originates in Africa, precisely in four southeastern districts in Guinea. This epidemic
is a nightmare to scientists and medical professions as it is currently claimed to have no cure. It is
believed that Ebola spreads from bats to pig farms, then reaching the public by consuming pork.
On March 25th, 2014 the Center for Disease Control declared that 86 suspected cases were reported
to the World Health Organization (Liebelson and Park). The entire globe has been affected and
influenced by this outbreak. There are now over 4,000 deaths and around 8,000 people already
contracting this disease in Africa (Ashkenas). The speed for the spread of Ebola is terrifying and
people should beware of it since we are a global community. The disease is highly contagious and
as a result, the whole globe is at risk. Physicians have been nursing patients of Ebola by
administering medicines to maintain blood pressure, using fluids and treat other infections that are
likely to strike at this time. Consequently, the health of our nation and other countries have been
endangered due to this Ebola outbreak. Not only I but also many people are afraid of what the
future has since this deadly epidemic might strike any time. People are living in fear and it has
destructively affected the economy of the subject nations. Public awareness is important to take
preventive action to get the virus under control. It will take a global effort to make a change and
save the life of many communities that have already been devastated by this disease. Since we
want to save lives, ignorance is not an option the virus needs to be put under control before it
strikes next.
