The document provides guidelines and instructions for three first aid practical exams: primary assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and improvised tourniquet application. The primary assessment test instructs candidates to check an unconscious patient for safety, consciousness, breathing, bleeding, and shock. The CPR test requires demonstrating one full chest compression and rescue breath cycle. The improvised tourniquet test involves wrapping a triangular bandage tightly around an injured ankle to stop bleeding.

FIRST AID PRACTICAL EXAMINATION GUIDE
PRIMARY ASSESSMENT TEST
SITUATION: An adult patient, surrounded by a crowd, is unconscious.
Perform Primary Assessment.
SOLUTION (in exact chronological order):
1. Cadet will assess the scene and ensure safety.
2. Cadet will check for consciousness by calling out the patient or, if still unresponsive, by using pain response. 3. Cadet will introduce himself and that he knows first aid. 4. Cadet will call for help and ask someone to call for EMS. 5. Cadet will ask for consent of family, immediate relatives, friends or crowd to perform first aid on victim. 6. Cadet will wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 7. Cadet will perform LLF to check: a. Blood circulation by placing his index finger to the carotid artery of the patient. b. Airway blockage by observing the pathway using the head-tilt and chin-lift maneuver. c. Presence of breathing by placing his ear near the patient’s mouth while observing if there is a rise and fall in the patient’s chest. 8. Cadet will check for Breathing, Bleeding, and Shock. 9. Given that the victim is pale, cadet shall raise the tail.
CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) TEST
Demonstrate 1 full cycle of CPR.
GUIDELINES:
1. Stable kneeling position, shoulders directly over victim’s breastbone, pressing
downward, keeping arms straight. 2. Depth of compression is 1 ½ inch to 2 inches. 3. Hands interlocked. 4. Weight of the compression is from the torso. 5. Performs 30 chest compressions while counting out loud. 6. Applies two rescue breaths while observing the rise and fall of chest every rescue breath.
IMPROVISED TOURNIQUET TEST
SITUATION: You are shot in the left ankle and are bleeding massively. You have a triangular bandage with you. Demonstrate proper improvised tourniquet to stop your bleeding.
1. Check the parts where the victim was injured.
2. Wrap the tourniquet bands twice tightly around the limb and tie an overhand knot. 3. Use a strong short stick or similar article (splint) that will not break on the overload knot, tie a square knot on top of the stick. 4. Twist the stick to tighten the tourniquet enough to stop the bleeding. 5. Place a note on the patient indicating the time the tourniquet is applied.
