Inquiry Based- Paroan Area Impulse)
Lesson Plan Teaching Quarter 4th Quarter
Week 3 – Thursday,
Dates and
Time
I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate an understanding of projectile motion, impulse
A. Content Standard
and momentum, and conservation of linear momentum.
The Learners shall be able to propose ways to enhance sports related to
B. Performance Standard
momentum.
C. Learning At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to relate impulse and
Competencies/ momentum to collision of objects.
Objectives.
(Write the LC code for
each)
D. Specific/Activity The learners should be able to Identify the factors that affect momentum.
objective

The content revolves around the Momentum and Impulse.

III. LEARNING
RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages
2. Learner’s Material pages
3. Textbook pages
4. Additional Material from
Learning Resource (LR)
Portal
B. Other Learning Resources The teacher uses visual aids and PowerPoint presentation.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. ELICIT
The teacher recalls the definition and the variables used to describe of
projectile motion.
B. ENGAGE
The teacher will show a pictures and will play a video clip and students are
asked to make an observation regarding the picture and video shown by the
teacher.
The students are asked to answer the following questions:

1. What have you observe on the picture?

2. If the two vehicles suddenly lose their breaks and crash against the
brick wall, what do you think will happen?
3. Which car do you think has a greater damage?
C. EXPLORE
The teacher facilitates an interactive discussion using visual aids and
PowerPoint presentation regarding the momentum. During the discussion
proper, students are tasked to answer the guide questions below.
D. EXPLAIN
Guide Questions/ Procedures:
1. What do you observe in terms of size of the two vehicles? How
fast they move?
2. Base on the definition which do you think has higher momentum,
the truck or car?
3. What will happen to the billiard ball when the player hit the ball hard
in collision with other ball? What do you observe to the time when
you hit the ball hard and is going to collide with the other ball?
E. ELABORATE
The teacher introduces the units to describe momentum.
The class then proceeds to second part of the lesson which is
problem solving about momentum and impulse.
F. EVALUATE
The teacher administers a quiz.

1-2. The momentum of an object depends upon the object's ________.

Pick two quantities.
a. mass - how much stuff it has
b. acceleration - the rate at which the stuff changes its velocity
c. weight - the force by which gravity attracts the stuff to Earth
d. velocity - how fast and in what direction it's stuff is moving e.
position - where the stuff is at
3. Momentum is a ____________ quantity.
a. scalar b. vector c. velocity d. none of the above
4. Impulse is equal to the change in _________ of a body which a force
causes multiplied by the length of _______ the force is applied.
a. momentum, time b. time, distance
c.distance, momentum d. velocity,time
5. Impulse is a ____________ quantity
a. scalar b. vector c. velocity d. time

with the lesson.
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these work?
