Municipal Celebration of Children’s Month

Mence: “Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”


Pauleen: “Children are not things to be molded, but are people to be unfolded.”
Mence: “Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven.”
Pauleen: And according to Proverbs 22:6, “Train the child the way he should go, and when
he is old, he will not depart from it.”
Mence and Pauleen: Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to 2019 Municipal
Children’s Month Celebration of the Municipality of San Mariano.
Mence: I am Mence M. Cera, a Grade 5 pupil of Alejandrino Family Learning Center.
Pauleen: And I am Pauleen B. Malabad, a Grade 4 pupil of Alejandrino Family Learning
Center.
Mence and Pauleen: And we are your Masters of Ceremony.
Mence: The Department of Education joins the Council for the Welfare of Children in
Celebrating this year’s National Children’s Month with the theme: “Karapatang Pambata:
Patuloy na Pahalagahan, at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,” and the 30th
Anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child or UN CRC.
Pauleen: This Celebration is pursuant to Republic Act Number 10661, entitled An Act
Declaring the Month of November Every Year as the National Children’s Month, which
aims to celebrate and recognize us children as the most valuable assets of the nation, and
to emphasize the importance of their role within the Family and Philippine society.
Mence: Friends, ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, may I request everybody to
please stand and pause for a while as we invoke the God’s merciful grace through a
doxology to be presented by the DepED District 2, to be followed by the Singing of the
National Anthem, DepEd District 1, in-charge.

Pauleen: Thank you very much and we may now be seated. One of the objectives of this
celebration is to intensify public awareness on the rights of children and remind all sectors
to be responsible in raising Filipino children to become well-rounded people, and to protect
them at all cost, as enshrined in the UN CRC. Hence, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome
the admirable, adorable, and angelic Sangguniang Bayan Member who is also the
Chairman Committee on Women and Children, the Honoroble Marivic B. Sumisim for her
opening remarks. Let’s give her a big round of applause.

Mence: Thank you very much Madam MBS. And to welcome us in this prestigious and
relevant occasion, may I call the lovely, pretty and pleasing Sangguniang Bayan member,
the Honorable Floritta-Marietta T. Bartolome, Chairman Committee on Social Services for
her welcome address. Please give her a big big hands.

Pauleen: Thank you very much Madam Flo. May I call the energetic and good looking
Municipal Vice Mayor of the Municipality of San Mariano, the father of the Legislative
Council of our Municipality, Honorable Dean Anthony G. Domalanta, for his message.

Mence: Thank you very much Sir Den-Den. And now, I would like to turn this over to our
energetic, dedicated, committed and hardworking Father of our Municipality, the ever
handsome and good-looking, Honorable Edgar T. Go for his inspirational talk. Let’s give
him a big big hands.

Pauleen: Thank you very much sir Bobot. Friends, ladies and gentlemen, we are lucky to
have the service of an intelligent and dedicated legislator – one of the pillars of the Province
of Isabela to be our Commencement Speaker. And so, to introduce him, may I call

Mence: Thank you very much Sir Tope. Let’s give our Commencement Speaker another
big round of applause.
Pauleen: We are proud to inform you that right here in this quadrangle, at this very moment
at San Mariano, Isabela, we have here the local version for the Pilipinas Got Talent. And
so, ladies and gentlemen, hold your breath and stay alive as we welcome the 2017 San
Mariano Kids Got Talent Champion. Put your hands together for Mr. Adrian Acera.

Mence: Thank you very much Adrian for that entertaining performance. One of the most
awaited part of this program is the different contested activities participated by the different
pupils and students, all aim to showcase their different talents, as a manifestation of God’s
gift to them. But before we proceed ladies and gentlemen, may I call, Engineer Mark
Vincent C. Galiza, Engineer 1, for the Presentation of the Board of Judges.

Pauleen: Thank you very much sir. At this point in time, may I request the chairman of the
Board of Judges for the Reading of the Criteria for Judging. Please give him a nice round
of applause.

Mence: At this point in time ladies and gentlemen, may we call Mrs. Remedios A. Telan,
the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer, for her closing remarks. Please
give her a big big hands.

Pauleen: Empower children as right-holders and duty-bearers to deliver commitment to
promote, protect, and fulfill their rights as children.

Mence: Proverbs 1:7 says “It’s so important for us children to know where wisdom starts:
by knowing and reverencing the Lord!”
