Wizards and Apprentices of level 10 or lower ignore the Death result when rolling for injuries after the game; simply
re-roll until you get another result. From level 11 onwards you may re-roll the Death result once only per game, per
Wizard or Apprentice, you must use the result of the second roll, even if you get a Death result again!
Unless the scenario states otherwise, picking up each treasure token for the first time in a game requires you to roll
a d20, a result of 10 or less means no monster is spawned for this treasure, a roll of 11+ means a monster has
appeared and a roll on the Wandering Monster Table (page 110) should be made to see what it is! Warbands up to
level 10 use the Level 1 encounter column, between level 11 and 20 use column 1 and 2, Level 21 and over use all 3
columns. You then roll another d20 to see where it appears, 1-5 is your starting table edge, 6-10 table edge to your
left, 11-15 the opposite table edge, 16-20 table edge to your right. Monsters will always appear in the center of the
table edge, or as close to it as they can, unless the scenario tells you differently!
With all participating players consent, this table can be replaced with the Wandering Monster Tables from any
supplements you are playing a scenario from.
The Optional Rule: Critical Hits (page 38) is used in our games.
The Optional Rule: Transcendence (page 95) is used in our games. If your Wizard successfully Transcends, his
Apprentice may take over the Warband, but he/she may never attempt to also Transcend!
Wizards successfully Transcended to date: Davok the Necromancer (Matt).
The members of your warband (the “Soldiers”) can always carry 1 treasure token, even if they have no slots free,
unless the scenario states otherwise.
Your “Soldiers” can only use the Armour and Weapons they come with, they cannot be given different Armour or
Weapon types.
Optional Rule: Your “Soldiers” can have up to ALL of their originally Armour and Weapons replaced with magical
versions of the same type, BUT, if you do this the magical items will then belong to the “Soldier” and cannot be
traded between games to other “Soldiers”. Any potions you give them will also become theirs! Also, if they die or
are dismissed, they take their magical treasure with them! Normally you can only have 1 magic item per “Soldier”; in
this case you can trade the item between games or re-claim it before dismissing them.
If a game Mechanic or Spell is not clear, please check the Frostgrave FAQ first (available from Doug or Matt at the
club, or look online), if this does not answer your query then please come to an amicable decision between all
parties involved at the time and continue your game as soon as possible, remember these games are meant to be
fun for all. Please report your decision after the game to Doug or Matt so we can look in to the problem further and
note it here for future events.
