Nonverbal communication conveys messages through eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture, and proximity. It is made up of multiple channels and some scholars believe it can communicate more than verbal communication alone. Facial expressions can be voluntary or involuntary, with voluntary expressions being socially conditioned and involuntary expressions being innate. Eye contact is a form of nonverbal communication that influences social behavior and its meaning varies between cultures. Gestures are bodily movements that communicate specific messages, either with or without words. Posture refers to the position of the body and was traditionally used in meditation to find a comfortable position that could be held for an extended period.

1) What is nonverbal communication?
Nonverbal communication is the
transmission of messages or signals through a nonverbal platform such as eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture, and the distance between two individuals. This form of communication is characterized by multiple channels and scholars argue that nonverbal communication can convey more meaning than verbal communication. Some scholars state that most people trust forms of nonverbal communication over verbal communication.
2) What is facial expression?
Humans can adopt a facial expression
voluntarily or involuntarily, and the neural mechanisms responsible for controlling the expression differ in each case. Voluntary facial expressions are often socially conditioned and follow a cortical route in the brain. Conversely, involuntary facial expressions are believed to be innate and follow a subcortical route in the brain. Facial recognition is often an emotional experience for the brain and the amygdala is highly involved in the recognition process. 3) What is eye contact? Eye contact occurs when two animals look at each other's eyes at the same time. In human beings, eye contact is a form of nonverbal communication and is thought to have a large influence on social behavior. Coined in the early to mid-1960s, the term came from the West to often define the act as a meaningful and important sign of confidence, respect, and social communication. The customs and significance of eye contact vary between societies, with religious and social differences often altering its meaning greatly. 4) What is gestures? A gesture is a form of non-verbal communication in which visible bodily actions communicate particular messages, either in place of speech or together and in parallel with words. Gestures include movement of the hands, face, or other parts of the body. Gestures differ from physical non-verbal communication that does not communicate specific messages, such as purely expressive displays, proxemics, or displays of joint attention.
5) What is postures?
A posture is a particular position
formed by the body. Traditionally, postures were used in a spiritual practice for seated meditation. A posture was intended to be comfortable and easy to hold for an extended period of time. In modern Hatha yoga, a much wider variation of postures are now practiced to bring about an array of health benefits, in addition to improving the practitioner’s ability to sit and meditate.
