Definition

Equity is a term whose meaning depends very much upon the

context. In general , You can think of equity as ownership in any
asset after all debts associated with that asset are paid off. For
example , a car or house with no outstanding debt is considered
the owner’s equity since he or she can readily sell the items for
cash. Stocks are equity because they represent ownership of a
company , whereas bonds are classified as debt because they
represent an obligation to pay and not ownership of assets.

To support its investment , a firm must find means to finance

them. Equity and debt represent two broad sources of finance for
a business firm.

Why Equities?
 Long-term wealth creation

Investing in equities for a long term has many advantages. Here is why equity

investments have an edge over simply saving money in your bank account:
 One of the best avenues to fight inflation

Inflation drives up the cost of living and eats away the value of your savings.

Traditional investment avenues like Fixed Deposits, Bonds, etc. have a

limited upside of 8 to 10 %, whereas equities as an asset class have given an

average annual return of about 13 % in the last 10 years. Hence, when it

comes to beating inflation, equities are undoubtedly your best bet

 Source of Long term wealth creation

Our philosophy of "Buy Right Sit Tight " has helped a lot of investors in long

term wealth creation. Investing in good businesses and growth stories at an

early stage provides unlimited upside potential. For example, your

investment of Rs. 1,000 in the Infosys IPO in 1993, would have fetched you

Rs. 30 Lakhs today. Not participating in growth stories would certainly be an

opportunity missed

 One of the most Liquid investment options

Equities also provide you the flexibility of quickly changing your holding

patterns to suit your requirements and also convert your holdings into cash

instantly. This makes it the most suitable option compared to other asset

classes for investors who are looking for liquidity

includes surveys and fact-finding enquiries of different kinds. The
population is finite and “Simple random sampling method” will be adopted
for selecting samples from the Infinite one. Structured Questionnaire
Conducting Perception of the customers required the preparation of a
detailed questionnaire which could capture all possible areas of their
agreed levels. Prior to preparation of questionnaire I circulated a
questionnaire to all India info line customers regarding the objectives of my
study. The questionnaire included eighteen questions. There were
questions on a 7 point scale, where 1 was the least agreed level and 7 was
the most agreed level. The statistical tool like Multiple Correspondence
Analysis was used to interpreting the data.

Multiple Correspondences Analysis

The data collected from the customers were systematically applied and they
are presented under various headings . They are also arranged in such a
way that a detailed analysis can be made so as to present suitable
interpretations for the same.
