WELCOME FROM THE
PROGRAMME COMMITTEE
CHAIRMAN
It is a great honour to inform you about the unique opportunity to
participate in the SPE Russian Oil and Gas Technical Conference and
Exhibition 2008 which will take place at the All Russia Exhibition
Centre in Moscow, Russia, 28-30th October 2008.
SPE Russian Oil and Gas Technical Conference and Exhibition 2008
is the place where oil and gas producing companies can meet
representatives of leading universities and institutes, and where
service industry representatives have a chance to meet with leading
research institutes.
ADIL MUKHITOV SPE Russian Oil and Gas Technical Conference and Exhibition 2008 is
VICE PRESIDENT INFORMATION the place to meet, share experience and collect best practices in
MANAGEMENT, SCHLUMBERGER applying technology today and addressing the challenges of tomorrow.
PROGRAMME COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN
During the course of the conference you will have a chance to attend
three plenary sessions and a closing session:
Plenary Session 1: The Russian Oil and Gas Industry and its Role in
the Global Energy Market
Plenary Session 2: The Role of Technology Today and Tomorrow
Plenary Session 3: Young Professionals and their Training – Realising
their Talent Today and Tomorrow
Closing Session: Wrap up session and Overview of Discussions
The exhibition will show case the latest developments and samples
of new high-tech equipment. I am confident you will be able to draw
on many new things for yourselves and your companies to find
application for these innovative solutions in your activity.
Eighteen technical sessions will be held to review 168 oral and poster
presentations. During the planning stages the Programme
Committee received 689 abstracts. The main criteria for selection
were innovation and applicability to existing technical challenges.
Another important criterion was the potential economic efficiency of
the use of proposed innovations for subsoil users. As a result, the
programme now includes papers from specialists from over 65
