Statement Of Purpose

COURSE CHOICE:

Having pursued my Bachelor's in Engineering of Information Technology, I would want to expand my

exposure towards the industry context of marketing and management as they are globally applied to all
environments ranging from business to health. I have also completed a course in Digital Marketing that
included interactions from industry practitioners, group assignments and experiential projects which has
highly inspired me to understand how marketing needs to be a natural conversation, understand the
audience and their relevance in the digital space. The Master of Business is a very good blend of
business strategy and technology which will help me gain deeper knowledge for improving my acumen
as well as create better career prospects.

I wish to study at the University of Wollongong for my Masters studies as it is one of the most industry-
connected institutions and is one of the highly ranked universities in the world. I understand that I will
be learning from leading industry professionals who will combine theory with practice to prepare me for
my career from day one. Moreover the core subjects provided in this curriculum like Organizational
behavior, Accounting and finance management, Principles of marketing management are of my grave
interest along with an opportunity to opt for dual specialization by selection of any two specializations
among categories like the Human resource management, International business, Marketing and finance
management.

In this dual specialization, I have major interest in the marketing management and human resources
management specializations because of the good range of subjects provided like Digital marketing,
Strategic brand management, supply-chain management and cross-cultural management. Moreover this
course gives an added advantage to work on a research project and global workspace project as part of
the curriculum which will give me the opportunity to learn relevant and real-time industry solutions
which will further help me build relevant skills and networks with leading business professionals for
better career prospects. Studying at UOW provides high education standards at an international level
which will add more value to my credentials .

My 10th High School education was completed in 2012 from St. Helena’s High School, ICSE Board and
scored 83%. In 2014, I completed my 12th HSC from Maharashtra State Board with 61%. I have
completed my Bachelors of Engineering in Information Technology from Sinhgad College of Engineering
in the year 2019. My undergraduate curriculum included subjects like Machine learning algorithms,
Object-Oriented Programming, Database Management System, Data Structures, which helped me build
a solid foundation in engineering and math. As well as subjects like software engineering and business
analytics and intelligence which peaked my interests about understanding the business and
management sectors.

For my final year project, I prepared a vehicle manufacturing supply chain management system using
Blockchain technology and Hyperledger Tool Composer to create a private ledger wherein the user,
manufacturer, car dealer and administrator can access this same ledger regulated by the administrator
to ensure consistent supply of materials at every stage. Thus, resulting to a decentralized ledger
technology which helps build transparency and improve sales across the entire chain of people
benefiting all parties involved.

After Bachelors, I started working as a Junior Executive at a facilities firm, V.P Associates. Through this
job, I took up various roles and responsibilities like coordinating with clients, providing timely reports,
assistance to team as well as administrative works. I worked on different types of sales challenges and
learnt about upcoming market trends and development procedures. Working on all these topics helped
me develop a keen interest in conceptual business strategies. Along with a deep passion for the subject
of marketing and management, what further motivated me to take it up is the advice I received from my
seniors at work. They stated that business and marketing is a domain that will always be around and
seeing as millions continue to make profits from it in their daily lives, I wish to try my luck in it too. This
experience will also help me as my existing background makes me understand the working of the sales
and marketing industry.

BENEFITS OF COURSE:

My Masters course will surely broaden my perspective and help me gain a true understanding of how
digital business spaces will contribute to the Indian market. I intend to work in a challenging, rigorous,
and collaborative environment, gaining the experiences.

On completion of my Masters program from Australia, I will be well versed with accounting and finance,
digital marketing, supply chain management, organizational analysis, marketing strategy and
communications which will further help in me obtain employment in digital marketing and
communications companies in India. My existing skills along with the wholesome exposure to the digital
industry during the course will take my career to the next level.

A decade from now, I wish to see myself as a successful and valuable marketing consultant. I want to
transform into a consultant solving business and marketing problems with the power of technology. I
wish to enhance my skills by squeezing every drop of opportunities in the field that drive towards new
learning and enhancing my skill set. This course is a powerful step in this direction and I want to leverage
it well to fulfill my dreams. I would be glad to impart training to all those who aspire to touch new
heights in the field of technology integrated with business and marketing.

APPLICANT CIRCUMSTANCES

The Australian qualifications are well recognized for excellence worldwide having an education system
that is second to none. They are well regarded in higher education and recognized degrees. It is also
one of the few countries having universities that offer an integrated curriculum with interdisciplinary
subjects of my interest. Along with that they do not require GRE or GMAT. Australia fits in my budget as
compared to other countries. It is an advanced country which offers state of the art infrastructure,
research facilities and immense exposure to different cultures and future career prospects.

The two years master courses and programs offered by Australian universities are top-notch, quite
flexible, offer interesting subjects to learn and have a great value to my career prospects back in India.
These reasons helped me to take an easy and confident decision of pursuing a master's degree in
Australia. I am eager to experience the diversity and share thoughts and ideas with people from
different cultural groups.

I was also looking for a similar course in India but rarely do we have a combination of course and
curriculum I have opted for. Also, predominantly India still follows the theoretical method of teaching
and at this stage of my career, I am looking for education with practical implementation as well. Hence
did not opt India for my Masters studies.

FINANCIAL CAPACITY:

My family consists of my father Mr. Pratap Shivajirao Pawar who is a business partner in a facilities
management firm for the last 30 years with an annual income of INR 16 Lakhs. My mother Mrs. Sunita
Pawar has worked in the IT industry as a software professional for 25 years and is also a business partner
along with my father in the same firm with an annual income of INR 29 Lakhs. My younger sister is
currently a high school student. My parents would be sponsoring my education in Australia.

On completion of my Masters of Business program from Australia, I wish to return back to India, as I am
very attached to my parents and wish to settle in India for good. I plan on obtaining employment in one
of the large marketing and communications companies like Denstu Aegis, GroupM, Omnicom,
WebChutney, Adsyndicate, etc with an expected salary of around 10-20 Lakhs per annum, where I can
take up roles of Management consultant, Digital marketing manager/consultant, Account manager and
HR specialists.

The APAC countries are growing rapidly in this sector and India being one of them is in high demand for
professionals with global exposure and updated skill sets and places like Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune,
Chennai are some of the best cities for such opportunities, hence I am confident that my degree and
exposure will help me secure my dream job and a achieve wide avenues in the real-world.

I am planning to stay off-campus and am currently looking for options available close to the college.
Depending on my visa and availability of living options, I shall take a call on the exact option. I hope that
my visa is granted at the earliest to ease my further plans.

Australia Visa Subclass 500 Awareness:-

I am aware of the Visa Conditions that I must satisfy while I am studying on a student visa in Australia.  I
cannot work more than 40 hours per fortnight, when my course is in session (other than work, which
has been registered as a part of the course). A fortnight means any period of 14 days commencing on a
Monday and ending at the end of the second following Sunday.  I can work for more than 40 hours per
fortnight during recognized vacation periods offered by my education provider. I cannot start paid work
until I have started my course in Australia. I must remain enrolled in a registered course (unless you are
a Foreign Affairs or Defense sponsored student or secondary exchange student in which case I must
maintain full-time enrolment in my course of study or training. I must maintain enrolment in a
registered course that is the same level as, or at a higher level than, the registered course for which I
was granted a visa. I must maintain satisfactory attendance in my course and course progress for each
study period as required by my education provider I must maintain adequate arrangements for health
insurance during my stay in Australia.

 I must continue to satisfy the requirements for grant of my student visa. This means, for example, that I
continue to have sufficient financial capacity to support my study and stay in Australia.  For Australia
Student Visa, I must tell my education provider, address where I live in Australia within seven days of
arriving in Australia, change in the address where I live within seven days of the change. I am aware that
I am liable to avail PSW (Post Study Work) rights work for 2 years after successfully completing my
course.
